lol I once thought about getting a Buick Rainier (twin to the last of the Jimmys, Saab 9-7X, original Trailblazer, last Olds Bravada) because it was the least ticketed vehicle on the road for many years and you could get one with the 5.3 Vortec V8.
Although Car and Driver always claimed the...
It seems like the seat buckles are sensitive even to being played with. I've got 3 kids and the booster is in the middle. If I'm not carrying the littlest one in the middle and one kid gets in on the passenger side where the 2 buckles are side by side, he messes with both buckles trying to find...
What did I do?
Went to the Ford dealer on my spring break and got two of 3 recalls done. The Integrated park module software update and Trailer module reprogramming. Was told that for Instrument panel ip topper replacement the parts wouldn't be available until June. But two programming recalls...
Reminds me of driving I-40 between Albuquerque and Gallup NM passing through Acoma Indian Pueblo and the speed limit drops to 65 (from 75). Saw an Acoma cop up ahead and slowed down to the speed limit (while in the right lane). Someone behind me went to pass and realized the cop was there so...
Replaced a 2018 Buick Regal TourX. Great little wagon, strong 2.0T, torque verctoring AWD, but it was an orphan on GMs tree and I wanted to sell it while there was still some value left in it.
Oh and turbo fuel economy sucks in stop and go traffic.
Looking at the procedures for going in and out of the different modes I swear some of these engineers were obsesses with the old Contra game (Konami Code...)
Seat back doesn't fold down, it moves just enough to let you install anchors on a child's car seat. The bottom cushion folds up and locks into place although the floor is not flat.
Mud flaps, I got the Mabett one's off of Amazon for about 35 bucks. Personally I like them.
That looks an awful lot like the one I bought off of Amazon (under some other brand name - we know that lots of Chinese factories sell the same thing under different names). I've had it since late September and have been very happy with it.
To each their own. I personally think they're over-hyped. On the subreddit Tires one can hardly get the question out of their mouth before someone says "CC2!"
I don't think they're worth the premium over other all weather tires. I had General Altimax 365 AW on an awd Buick and they were...
Kinda interesting too because my coworker has a RAV4 hybrid with the severe snow service rated Falkens and that stiffer sidewall would seem to me kinda punishing for a vehicle like that. (Don't doubt he needs the 3PSF rated ones, he loves to use it to find trail heads for hiking and mountain...
I'd bet what happened was someone low on the totem pole got tasked with designing a test. He's slowly but surely working on it when someone with gray in their temples drops by and looks over his shoulder and says: "You know back in the day the way we would have tested this is... (20 min later)...
Rough Country, IIRC it was about $160, held in place with straps and carabiners. Got it because my truck is what gets used for shopping trips when we try to pick up food for a week or 2 at a time. My wife's Yukon is so big its actually a pain in the ass to take around town for stuff like that on...
Today the Mav hit 3000 miles, posting up a pic showing the lifetime fuel economy during the time I've owned it (it had a few miles on it when I picked it up.) Roughly 36 mpg with a probably 40/60 mixture of highway-interstate and city driving. Picked up in September and has spent it's life at...
