Nope, no way to get a hand down there. (unless you can figure out the plastic shroud removal)
I used a couple of impact driver extensions to position the clip on top of the battery lip and aligned with the bolt hole. I think I used a headlight to be able to see down there. Once positioned, I...
You'll want a 1/4 extension at least a foot long ..... magnetic sockets help
a light
a magnet on a stick
patience
I did mine without pulling the plastic surround. I couldn't figure out how to pull the plastic surround without breaking it. If you can get the plastic surround out, access to the...
Do you remember the thread pitch/nut size for the positive and negative posts under the hood? I'm thinking of permanently installing a small NOCO or Battery Tender maintainer under the hood somewhere and routing the plug through the grill. Is that what you did?
Several times. Twice, I think by the dealer, and I did the blinker, brake reset at least 3 times now.....really had no effect. Reset it again when I put the Diehard in.... fingers crossed.
I just replaced mine withe the Diehard Gold 2 days ago. Exact fit. I also changed 2 settings in the body control module with Forscan. Upped the charge level from 80 to 95 %, also changed the battery type from agm to flooded. I also disabled all the connectivity crap.... didn't pull fuse 11...
After a little more googling, It's a software update that supposedly detects an impending engine failure and limits engine power. I wonder how many false positives will be detected. Also, what happens when an impending failure is detected? Then what? Does Ford then replace the engine?
What...
Hey Ford forum monitoring person: How about you get in touch with your crack engineers and ask WTF is going on with this deep sleep issue? When you get it figured out, post a solution. I, for one am sick of dealing with it. It's a new truck. I shouldn't have to charge the frickin battery.
22 xlt hybrid
I’ve been getting these deep sleep messages pretty much from the get go. They seem to be more prevalent when it’s cold outside. So far my dealership has reset the bms, replaced the battery once, did the main 12 volt harness replacement, and updated some modules, I forget which...
I have a '22 XLT hybrid. Last winter the deep sleep messages happened all the time. The colder it got the more I would get the message. My dealership has reset the BMS, and replaced the battery. This pretty much cured the issue for the summer months. But now that the temperatures are dropping...
I've connected a dashcam to a USB adapter powered by the front cigarette lighter port. I would like that port to power down when I shut off the truck. And it does......sometimes. Sometimes it stays powered for some random period of time. Anybody else notice this? Is there a setting I'm missing?
It's bizzaro world. Dealer service rep says "gotta see evidence of a problem with that harness connection before we'll fix it for nuthin'." Ford customer liaison person, "Raven" (this is a company person, not a dealer person) concurs.
Doesn't make sense. According to these brainiacs, I have to...
Just got off the phone with my dealer about doing the csp 22B39 harness overlay. Was told if there are no bad harness symptoms, I would be charged for the procedure. I called Ford customer service and they verified that. So my understanding is the truck must fail first to have the overlay done...
Welcome to the club. Same deep sleep crap on my XLT hybrid except mine has always started. Had it into the dealer and they reset the BMS, a fix that lasted approx. 12 hrs. Going back for the side curtain airbag fix early May. I'll have 'em look at it again.
Hey Ford rep, lots of your customers...
My XLT was delivered in June. One of the things that bothered me was the tailgate droop, looked to be an inch at least. Today I installed 2 new cables from Ford. I bought 'em. 30 bucks apiece. It solved the problem. The new cables look to be at least 1/2" shorter than the ones that came with the...
