    If the computer cutting in and out is the cause and nothing wrong with the steering rack itself .I wonder if the rack could have been damaged now. Its not only snapping the steering wheel but the big tires on the ground too.

    Just one note of caution. On the hard fold up types the lower cost ones don't fold up the last panel against rear window giving you full bed access. Just the higher priced ones do.

    It does bring up a question about warranty repair. He said he has a cover on back like I do. Mine is a tri fold hard cover. Not sure if OP has the same. I would think the owner is responsible for getting that cover open FIRST. Would he not as it isn't factory. Plus they may just break it open...

    Of course the screen will grow,. I must be the only one who doesn't care. Plenty big enough already for back up camera. Other wise I never look at it. I use Garmin 8 inch screen gps. Way better than google maps or Waze in my opinion.
