Here's my .02 If you mostly stream music and rarely listen to radio, sure get rid of the OEM antenna. I did the same. There's no reason to replace it with the stubby antenna even, especially if you live in a larger metro. I'm in the Bay area and I get perfect radio reception without any antenna...

I like this setup and will be attempting the same this coming weekend. How do you strap the two kayaks down so they don't slide out when you accelerate or turn? Did you try this on the freeway? What speeds did you get to?

Added a Softopper this weekend. Picked it up used. Looks great. Drove down south with wife and the pups. First long trip and truck was a blast. It was nice having the softtopper so when we went to the beach and pups got wet and sandy we could just put them in the back.

Doesn't really make them any cooler with the perforation. I guess the material might help a little. I love the fact that I can just wipe them clean after any food or drink spills, not to mention doggie drool lol. The fabric would have stained by now

They're fairly easy, it just needs patience. Have someone to help you as it's easier passing the straps through with someone attaching them on the other side. There are a couple good videos on YouTube. I'm in Union City.

I actually took it off since it looked odd. I live in a large metro so reception is still good and mostly stream music anyways. I mentioned that in my "upgrades" - thanks for noticing though :P

They will keep showing up on Amazon now and then. Keep an eye out... The grey and white are much better than plain black IMO
