It’s really not hard to do. I did a search on YouTube and found few videos that helped explaining the process. There’s a few videos for lifting the Maverick (not much about lowering), but it’s the same technique.
I wear hearing aids (26 years in the AF working the flightline) and I agree that hearing aids only help a bit, they certainly don't capture music all that well. Personally I'm glad I have them because they do help me hear people talking to me.

Did you consider having an access port on the driver's side to access the power inverter in the truck bed should you need 120v? Of course that's provided you have that option on you Maverick.

I've done the same thing a few time with PVC pipes! Worked out great and now that the weather is cooling down I can leave crack open and get a nice airflow through the truck.
