I believe that it's part of the cover. I don't recall it being there before I put the cover on. Unfortunately I don't have the installation instructions to confirm that.

Thanks for providing the clarification. I haven't had any issues with my struts, but I haven't had a reason to open my hood for a few months. It's nice to know that help is available should I need it.

I had my certificate and was told by my salesman that I had to present it when we did the paperwork to finalize the sale. I did and received the $500 discount. I actually had two certificates, one expired before my Maverick arrived, so I applied again for another one, which I received and then used.

I didn't see any tips about opening the hood. Is there something I missed?
