...the X5 we keep there now, while it's still running.
musings;
all these offerings still have a short bed that you could not lay down in with a canopy or camper for camping. Sure, you can make some hodge-podge compromise that hangs out over the bumper, but where's the modular utility in that...
@HybridMavGal
Could you please post a picture of your fiberglass A.R.E. topper and the foam addition you made.
From a logical point of view. I feel you are absolutely correct.
Unibody construction on the Maverick, is not conducive to having a hard camper style top bed cover. Unlike traditional...
...6 days, pulling all the seats, the headliner, all the carpets/mats - they did a great job isolating where and how this is happening. An A.R.E. canopy was installed in March 2026. Both water intrusions happened after this. The installer foot the bill on this one, as it was installed too close...
...tent — indeed we do, and with permission because we do it in our club tent. (Well, just outside of. the tent, usually under an adjacent pooup canopy.)
The restriction is on individuals cooking out on the showfield, where the vehicle parked next to you may not appreciate greasy smoke, plus...
Washing and waxing to get ready for th Ford Nationals in Carlisle, PA next weekend and getting ready to load up canopy and chairs. See ya'll at the Maverick Truck Club tent.
The things I tow with either my ram, or maverick will cut my mileage in half. Our boat is about 3000 lbs. I get lows 30,s hwy not towing, 15-16 towing. When towing with the ram i get about 20 not towing, about 10 mpg towing. This trailer looks way less that 3000 lbs ...unloaded.
.so depending...

I’m toying with the idea of purchasing a 5 x 12 aluminum crossover trailer and converting it into a camper. It is a bit taller than my Maverick (WHICH I ORDERED...
(Electrical stuff stays under the rear seats, so it’s really the only “camping” part that doesn’t come off.) But honestly I use that system all the time, not just for trips. I’ll run Starlink and charge everything off it since I’m still in college, so I’ll go sit at the beach and knock out...
...to get away from needing a trailer altogether. Now everything lives in the truck. When I go camping I load up totes in the bed, throw on the canopy and awning, and I’m good. When I’m not camping, it’s just a normal truck again.
My setup is pretty modular too. If I’m with my buddy, we can...
Hey!
There's a lot going on with your comment and I'd like to make sure I understand everything correctly. I'd like to chat about your setup and the best approach going forward. If your Yakima rack is the Overhaul HD, the t-slot adapter kit that's available for it is designed to mount onto...
...The rails as designed don't seem very study compared to the beefy quality of the rack I own. I usually will have 2-12' kayaks, side mounted canopy and assorted gear mounted for weekend excursions. The track flexes a bit with the just the rolling of the cover, so I may have to drill the truck...
...fun. So first off is Lighting. Additions to my 25 XL trim.
Lighting:
1) Amazon RV dome light for RV plus maverick innovation switch in bed/Canopy
Raycharm 10" RV Camper LED Awning Porch Utility Light Fixture, 40° Down Angle Beam
2) Hood Beam LED- i'm still not sure about this but it looks...
...the effort.
It is attractive with the 1,500lb weight but it doesn't offer a whole lot for that beyond the sleep quarters. There isn't even a canopy to cover the outdoor kitchen so inclement weather is an issue.
If weight is truly the driving factor you can get into a Travel lite Rove 14BH...
Bought a Mabett spoiler to help keep snow and water diverted from gap. Taped a clear 4 inch plastic over the gap. Works and doesn't look too bad. Will probably have to replace tape once in a while and spoiler was not a perfect fit with the canopy corners.
