  1. Towing - Loose hitch in receiver on 4k tow package.

This has been the base with every single receiver I've had on every vehicle including my Lexus with a factory tow package. Normal
  2. 2025 XL auto lock tailgate.

Just add your own wiring and pins, most likely the harness under the spare still has power running to it on XL models
  3. Survey-Knocking noise with Eibach Lowering springs installed in past year

99.9% of the time you have knocking noises after a lift it's because you didn't loosen and retorque control arm bolts etc at the new ride height.
  4. Which oversized oil filter on ecoboost engine seems to be the winner

Please make sure you take bypass pressure into account when considering an alternative filter, it's not just about pleats and surface area. I never hear this mentioned in these discussions
  5. Camper Spotted on Maverick

You can tell by lower shock mounts it's a hybrid in OP's photo
  6. 2024 intake valves

You don't get gas being sprayed over intake valves with DI.....
  7. Missouri FS - Bronco Sport Badlands Wheels (4) Kansas City area ($550)

Are you local? They do not have tpms
  8. Add me to the blown transmission club

I said a while back that I thought the 8F35 was going to be the Maverick's Achilles...the lifetime fluid designation from Ford is a joke (it's good for the lifetime of the transmission, not your lifetime) and the Ecoboost engine torque rating is at the threshold the 8F35 was designed for. Ford...
  9. Dealer denied warranty claim on CV axles

People on that line don't even know what a CV axle is
  10. Went from XL stocks to ATs and yikes.

Wildlpeaks are a very heavy tire, plenty of lighter at options out there that would have helped maintain your fuel economy. For every one pound of rotational mass you add it's like adding roughly eight pounds of static weight to your vehicle. I ran 245/70R17 road venture at2 tires on mine and...
  11. CV joints failing & parts on indefinite backorder?!?!?

Part of the reason I dumped my Mav, two sets of failed front half shafts in 20k miles. It's amazing that Ford would rather keep replacing them at a huge cost rather than supercede the part with a more robust design. It's not surprising though given my most recent experience with Ford.
  12. Introduce New Release---Rear Wheel Shock Shield Cover Demand

Just curious how people think this is useful? Looks more cosmetic to me than anything else and will only serve to trap moisture and road salt behind it accelerating rust.
  13. Ford 8F35 Transaxle Fluid Change at 150,000 miles? What's The Consensus?

Did your previous vehicle have a 6f35 or an 8f35? They're not well regarded or known to be reliable...
  14. Here’s kind of a weird take: the Ford Maverick is embarrassing.

Fifteen to twenty years ago Jalopnik had fantastic content, then they were acquired by gawker and they let their dumb political beliefs dictate their writing. Now I believe it has a new owner but a lot of the same narrow minded writers who don't know their ass from their elbow
  15. Missouri FS - Bronco Sport Badlands Wheels (4) Kansas City area ($550)

Selling (4) excellent condition Bronco Sport Badlands (optional) wheels. These come with the original center caps but you can purchase regular Ford center caps on ebay if you prefer. 17x7, +37.5 offset, 5x108 bolt pattern, 63.4mm hub bore. $550 or best offer
  16. Lifted Maverick Tremor (on 2" Rough Country Lift Kit)

You should find some proper sliders if they make them. Those nerf bars are going to get mangled
  17. Transmission grenaded

Unfortunately I've been saying it from the start but this is going to be commonplace. Most Ford techs will openly say that the 8F35 is a piece of junk just like the 6F35 was. Add in extra heat and strain from towing and hauling and kaboom.
  18. I Hate the Stupid Dial Shifter: Now With Poll

Miss the dial shifter after moving to a Lexus, now I have this big dumb phallic shifter in the way of my USB outlets etc.
  19. 22 XLT Auto-locking doors driving me crazy

you're hitting the lock (not the switch) with your hand when you're opening the door. I did it myself almost every time I got out of my Maverick with the intention of getting back in. Whoever designed the door handle was a moron with very small hands. My size 2xl hands just could not pull the...
