  1. Check engine light for evap issue - still waiting on a fix after many months! Code P0456

I got some good news from Ford today. I did not update this post, but I ended up opening a case with Ford customer care. First contact via email a couple days ago. First call, yesterday. Today… my part will be delivered Monday. Funny how that works. That’s sarcastic, I do appreciate them jumping...
  2. Check engine light for evap issue - still waiting on a fix after many months! Code P0456

@Ford, if you see this, help!!! TLDR: Mavericks have zero parts availability and it is super-frustrating! First week of June this year, I entered my truck into the Carlisle Ford Nationals with the MTC, got to meet quite a few nice folks and see lots of Fords. On my way home (about 180...
  3. 245/70/R17 tires fit on factory FX4 Maverick (no rubbing)

No rubbing… with the caveat that the only off-road driving I do is in my driveway lol. Hand calculated MPG is about 10% worse on the highway. Speedo is off about 5%. So when the speedometer says I’m driving 60, I’m actually going 63.
  4. 245/70/R17 tires fit on factory FX4 Maverick (no rubbing)

I went a little wider but not as tall: 255/65R17
  5. DIY ceramic coat + Alto Blue = a shiny truck

Wheels are stock FX4, tires are BFG KO2 255/65R17.
  6. DIY ceramic coat + Alto Blue = a shiny truck

Very nice! I was quoted $1200. Seems to really vary by region and/or vendor.
  7. ALTO BLUE Maverick Photos Thread

When we pulled into the dealer and saw the truck, the wife accused me of ordering black instead of blue like I told her. 😁
  8. DIY ceramic coat + Alto Blue = a shiny truck

Yes sir, hence the day and a half it took me to get it all done. I’m no pro lol.
  9. Thermal camera view of my Maverick's heated seats & steering wheel

If I was a Ford engineer, you best bet I’d be writing my name out with those seat heater coils. Or maybe a smiley face. Or both. Only to never be seen by anyone except clever dudes with thermal cameras 😁
  10. DIY ceramic coat + Alto Blue = a shiny truck

Now THAT is one good looking shiny vehicle right there.
  11. DIY ceramic coat + Alto Blue = a shiny truck

BFG KO2s... 255/65R17. And I always get asked so will answer now... yes they fit with no lift, and they do not rub. :)
  12. DIY ceramic coat + Alto Blue = a shiny truck

The touchless carwash near my house has a "ceramic" spray that is part of the deluxe wash... What actually is in it is anybody's guess, but It has never clouded my windows.... and does seem to help a bit with keeping the dust off the truck. Or that could just be me justifying in my head...
  13. DIY ceramic coat + Alto Blue = a shiny truck

Ceramic coated the Mav over the weekend.... came out really nice, but man, a lot of work. Did it myself. It is not an easy job, took a day and a half more or less…. 2 coats. To do it right, the prep is kinda brutal, props for dudes that do work like that for a living. But I saved about a grand...
  14. Where are we at on adding additional seat cushioning / firmness

I have an XLT EB. I liked the seat comfort when I test drove one way back when. After mine came this year, I decided to get seat covers for protection, not comfort. Then before I bought some I was lucky enough to win a set in Carlisle at the Ford show… and I can’t say enough good things about...
  15. Cavity Wax/Spray for Rust Prevention

I had mine done with fluid film, because it supposedly creeps into corners. Had a complete application including all the cavities like inside the rocker panels. I had to buy the clips for my guy, he didn’t have them. Took him about all day…takes time to remove all the splash guards and fx4 skid...
  16. Tail light popping off - easy fix

I also noticed that the screws can be over-tightened, which causes the front of the light assembly to pop out of the little thing that holds the assembly in place. Loosened those up a bit and haven't had any trouble since.
  17. Service Engine - EVAP Code P0456 @ 3k Miles

I have the same code. Been driving with the cel on for quite a while now, months. Dealer says part is back ordered.
