  6. Ford Insiders - Maverick Demo Location Schedule?

I am confident there are some Ford insiders lurking on this forum. What is the schedule for Maverick demos and locations? Just read a post about a demo in Maryland on Monday the 27th.. If true, they are working their way through the east coast.
  7. Trainer coming to Roseville

Maybe you are in the know; When will viewings begin in other states, specifically Connecticut? Does anyone know the schedule?
  8. Why are there no fog lights?

Riddle me this... The Maverick has two 12V DIY adapters at each side of the tailgate for accessories and/or customization's. Since the battery in the Hybrid is no longer located in the engine bay any front end accessories like Fog Lights or LED's could be tied to the jump start risers in the...
  9. What's your engine Breaking-In Period plan?

Yes, 5W30 Full Synthetic on the 2.0 and 0W20 Full Synthetic on the 2.5
  10. What oil brand will you be using ?

I stand corrected. Just checked the Maverick manual again and the Hybrid requires 0W20 Full Synthetic. This will make it easier since my wife's 2015 Civic also uses 0W20.
  11. What's your engine Breaking-In Period plan?

Page 303 of the Maverick manual states: "Note: The oil consumption of new engines reaches its normal level after approximately 3,000 mi (5,000 km)." I will drive it easy for the first 1000 mi, do the first oil change at 3000 mi (0W20 for the Hybrid-Page 361), then follow the idiot light after that.

  14. Possibly why there's no Hybrid AWD (for now)

I fully agree... I lived in Northern Nevada for 20 years and never needed 4WD or AWD even though many claimed I did; Moved to CT 2 years ago and drive route 6 or I84 to and from work. There is a reason there are so many FWD vehicles on the roads in CT, NV, etc...

  16. Learned Something New – Auto Return to Park Feature

I'm the idiot who has made the mistake of opening the drivers door to pour out cold coffee while the car is in drive... Actually hit a trash can (slowly), but could have been worse...
  17. Learned Something New – Auto Return to Park Feature

The Automatic Return to Park is a very cool feature... I often find myself turning off the engine (press the start/stop button) on my wife's 2015 Civic before shifting to park. The Civic will allow me turn off the engine while still in drive without a warning (idiot light or chime).
  18. Did you pick FWD or AWD Maverick and why?

FWD Hybrid; fuel economy, don't tow much, if necessary can add snow tires for Connecticut winters.
