  2. News: 2025 Ecoboost Mavericks with GPF (Gasoline Particulate Filter) going to CARB states

That is the reason for the ramp. It applies to multiple lines and has to be in place for 2026. There is a lot of juggling going on right at the moment it sounds like. If you follow Tim on Youtube he talks about the current constraint items, and what Ford is telling them about getting orders...

  4. News: 2025 Ecoboost Mavericks with GPF (Gasoline Particulate Filter) going to CARB states

In theory and when it works correctly it does this automatically and the user isn't supposed to have to do anything. When it doesn't go correctly there is a process they tell you to use to troubleshoot it, and of course garages/shops will get up to speed on how to clear the errors if they...
  5. News: 2025 Ecoboost Mavericks with GPF (Gasoline Particulate Filter) going to CARB states

No fluid at this point. The fluid is for the SCR and not the DPF in the diesel. The GPF does require a regen cycle so high rpm purge.
  6. Oil Change #1 questions

Most oils today, even the basic mineral oils(ie non-synthetics) have been hydro cracked and processed to some extent to separate off some of those compounds, and additive packages are used to be able to meet the current API spec for the oil. So even the most basic oil on the shelves today are...
  7. Oil Change #1 questions

Your dad was right at the time. Quaker State and others were make from Pennsylvania crude. It is a high wax content crude. It made a higher viscosity oil, but it did sludge badly. The Motor Oil Geek has a little history tour of the first well there and the whole history of it. Differences...
  8. News: 2025 Ecoboost Mavericks with GPF (Gasoline Particulate Filter) going to CARB states

They won't start the build of the GPF Maverick's until this week. So you don't have a GPF. You can look at the exhaust. About where you would expect a catalytic converter you will see a funky looking canister like on the thumbnail of the video. So breath a sight of relief you got the new...
  9. Hello and good bye : ( Truck totaled before I could make my first post ....

Like someone else pointed out it is the supply chain issues, parts issues, and salvage values are too high. It is more profitable to total it. People chant "unibody" as the problem, but every car on the road since forever has been unibody and has been largely repairable. This is a more recent...

Andre is wrong, the EB is still 250hp.
  11. Significant changes to the 2025 2.0 Ecoboost Engine

GDI = improved performance GDI = oops we forgot that we are dumping sewage in the intake. Many years later, oops still dumping sewage in the intake, maybe we need to dump some fuel with a detergent on the intake valves so we don't choke these things to death. GDI = oops oops we dump more fine...
  12. News: 2025 Ecoboost Mavericks with GPF (Gasoline Particulate Filter) going to CARB states

You are correct. They start building the GPF equipped trucks this week. The Ford update is that they are removing the GPF 50 states package from any order that is outside of one of the CARB states due to constraints on the GPF. Apparently they are launching multiple lines with the GPF and...
  13. News: 2025 Ecoboost Mavericks with GPF (Gasoline Particulate Filter) going to CARB states

A GPF is a a Gasoline Particulate Filter, think of it something like a diesel uses a DPF to capture particulate matter and then dumps fuel in it to burn off the material. These are coming to gasoline vehicles starting with the CARB states first. Sounds like they have to be in place in CARB...
  14. News: 2025 Ecoboost Mavericks with GPF (Gasoline Particulate Filter) going to CARB states

Tim is out posting the latest news that was just put out by Ford today on the GPF trucks that are going to CARB states. If you don't live in a CARB state you can't order it with the GPF package now while they sort out supply chain issues.

  16. Significant changes to the 2025 2.0 Ecoboost Engine

Unfortunately all the manufacturers rushed out the door with GDI without considering the consequences. It has just taken some of them A LOT longer to get around to correcting it. People are like, but my truck runs fine... Give her time. Atherosclerosis takes time. She is getting plugged up...
  17. JD Powers says the Santa Cruz is the #1 "midsize" truck?

Well you have to remember looks are subjective. There are people that think the Cybertruck looks good... LOL
  18. 2025 Hybrid AWD engine overheated at only 450 miles

I know it has been mentioned in other places on the forum, but just a reminder for those with the extended factory warranty and the hybrid. 20. Oil Analysis Reports of Low Viscosity, Shearing

Many oils sheer out of grade. This isn't that uncommon. Are you doing a lot of short tripping? GDI boosted engines are hard on oil. Check out the Motor Oil Geek on Youtube. The oil you might find useful is the Mobil 1 Truck and SUV formula. It seemed to have pretty good resistance to sheer.
