  1. Hypermiling Challenge for 2.5L Hybrid

Ok………here’s my odometer so far…………. Rough calculations will make it seem like I’m driving slowly all the time. Keep in mind that the ā€œtimeā€ includes waiting in line at the drive-thrus at the bank, CVS, etc. This is real-world driving. Off the top of my head………about 40% highway (60-85; she’s seen...
  2. Spied! High-Performance Ford Maverick ST in the Works?

Some truth to that. But, for me, any manual is better than an auto. One learns to work it. The hybrid is a whole ā€˜nuther story!
  3. Spied! High-Performance Ford Maverick ST in the Works?

15 entries so far. Lots of ā€œI hopeā€ this and ā€œI would like to seeā€œ that……….. HOW ABOUT A STICK!!!
  4. šŸ™‹‍ā™‚ļø What did you do TO / WITH your Maverick today?

Try putting a tarp down first. Make it big enough to wrap over the top, held down with shovels, etc. Much easier cleanup.
  5. Stressed - Could use some help. Vehicle won't start - not in a location it can be towed - 2.5L hybrid

Making suggestions is NOT roadside assistance. Give him some grief. The whole MTC is watching!
  6. You’ve been Promoted

    Flashbacks!?!? Huh……..promises, promises!
  7. Big Shudder

Read the whole thread. Happened to me on Friday. Driving on Tremont St. in Boston. From one light to another. No heavy throttle, no heavy braking. Driving in anticipation of having to stop at the next block. Sometimes don’t have to. Thoroughly warmed up. Foot light on the throttle, or light on...
  8. Car and Driver: Ford Maverick Hybrid Misses Its MPG Estimates, but We're Not Surprised

2.2 miles traveled……….107.5mpg First time I got up this season, I got a hit.……….I’m batting a thousand. Same thing.
  9. Car and Driver: Ford Maverick Hybrid Misses Its MPG Estimates, but We're Not Surprised

Real world baloney! Got 1700 miles so far, 2.5 months. When I took delivery, had 11 miles on the clock, 22mpg. On and off assembly line, delivery train, trucks, etc. I left it alone, with the idea of watching the improvement as I went. During MY drive time, I do highways (65-85 generally) when...
  10. Tailgate badge?

Don't need no stinkin’ badges! Pulled them all off first day. No holes. You’ll need a plastic or wooden spudger with which to pry. Work it………it comes right off.
  11. Sliding rear window visibility issues

I agree. But with the dark factory tint, I wish that the window opened to the other side. Looking through the double (when opened) windows is really dark. One does not look through the window behind the driver quite as often.
  12. šŸ™‹‍ā™‚ļø What did you do TO / WITH your Maverick today?

There are 3 pieces of hardware in lieu of alloy wheels…….. Wheel covers…..available online, mostly in plastic, simulating alloy wheels. Hub caps……….just what it sounds like. Covers only the hub and the lug nuts. Trim rings…….. a donut that attempts to creat the ā€œdeepdishā€ look. The hubcaps and...
  13. Wheel locks installed

I bought the Gorilla nuts from Amazon. Returned the ā€œFordā€ OEMs. Big difference. Even has a shiny head, instead of the ā€œflowerā€ head. Small investment. Better than nothing.
  14. Are Drivers Forgetting To Drive Safely, Due To Built In Safety Tech Protecting Us?

The manufacturers aren’t helping any. The touchscreen, IMHO, is he most dangerous, reckless invention, possibly ever! In my state (probably most) a tv monitor MAY NOT be in the view of the driver. The touchscreen is worse than that, in that it requires interaction, rather than just passive...
  15. Anyone else waiting for clamp part for fuel tank recall?

Did Ford cover a rental for all 7 weeks?!?
  16. šŸ™‹‍ā™‚ļø What did you do TO / WITH your Maverick today?

If you ask ā€œDo you give the same 10% vets’ discount that Lowe’s gives?ā€, always shames them into it. At least it always worked for me. Our state has ā€œveteranā€ on our drivers’ licenses, provable only with a DD214. (Had trouble finding mine at first. An Honorable Discharge, signed by Nixon wasn’t...
  17. did my first oil change... what a PITA...trick

Two reasons (probably more) to change one’s oil: Renew lubricity with new oil. Remove the crud that has accumulated in the old oil. That consists mostly of acids, small bits of engine innards, and combustion blow-by products, all of which will do damage to the working parts of the engine with...
  18. šŸ™‹‍ā™‚ļø What did you do TO / WITH your Maverick today?

Thanks for the comeback. Something to think about.
  19. šŸ™‹‍ā™‚ļø What did you do TO / WITH your Maverick today?

Mark, If you don’t mind……. How strong is that spoiler? I’d like to carry a 12’ canoe, with one end hanging out over the open tailgate, and the other over the cab roof. Looking for a headache rack, or suitable substitute, such as the spoiler, to do the job. Could it? Without deforming? Or...
