My Maverick XL has now been driven for 7,014 miles. The mpg for January has been 28.7. The mpg over the last two months has been 29.6. The truck still drives well. No rattles or complaints. The new battery recall does not pertain to my truck since it came off the line on Feb. 29, 2024. It...
When I filled up a few days ago, it said 480 miles to empty. I agree that it is going on the most recent tank of gas. In the warmer summer months, I have seen it on 520.
My XL Ecoboost drives and handles very good. I have no complaints! Down here in South Carolina we do not experience the very cold temps like you do, but this week it is going down to 14 with a wind chill around 10. That is very cold for us.
There was a time a few years ago when Ford was encouraging customers to change their orders to Ecoboost engines. I waited 552 days to get mine since Ford said an Ecoboost order was more likely to get delivered. I am happy with the Ecoboost. I didn't know anyone thought it was redundant.
It should be about safety, not convenience! Ok, I am 73 so label me old. It is a fact that the more extra features you have, the bigger chance of something going wrong.
I have hit my head several times. It is usually putting things in the back seat and forgetting to duck my head when coming out. I am used to ducking when getting in the front seat. It really hurts when you are bald on top like I am. The hurt even goes through the hat I wear and opens up a...
After nine months and 6,362 miles, I am still happy with my truck. The last time I checked the mpg was several days ago. Over 804 miles it averaged 30.5 mpg. That was mostly highway miles on two lane roads with 55 to 60 speed limits using normal mode. The truck continues to drive and handle...
I don't really miss much from my old 2010 Ranger XLT. My Maverick XL is actually a much better truck in almost every way. I think the only things that were better in the old Ranger was the radio and a six foot cargo bed. The Maverick has a much better ride and handling and much better gas...
Looks like Toyota has been missing the mark lately! Poor gas mileage and high prices may mean poor sales. I have read that other Toyota models have problems, also.
It's not going to get more accurate unless you adjust the AFE bias. I agree that the more pump calculations you do, the more accurate your mpg will be. The computer readings on my truck were always higher than the pump calculations until I lowered the AFE bias.
I just like for the computer reading to be accurate. You should never make changes just based on 75 or 100 miles. I think use at least 2 full tanks before making any changes. The fact is that the factory setting is too high. Most people on here say that about 950 is a lot more accurate...
I'm not sure about that. I use actual mpg divided by computer mpg to get AFE bias number. In your example it's saying the reading is optimistic by 11.2 percent. When I first checked mine, it was off by about 6.5 percent and has improved some since then. I haven't heard of anyone's being off...
