  1. Two Year Review: 2024 Maverick XL

I just find it disgusting that Ford required stop/start without an option to leave it turned off. It is the worst thing I have ever encountered on a new vehicle. The dash light that comes on does not have to be turned off. It is just annoying. Unfortunately, Ford used the same cable from the...
  2. Two Year Review: 2024 Maverick XL

No, it has not caused any problems other than a little light coming on the dash saying service needed since the computer knows the wire has been disconnected. Just press the ok button and the light goes off. The truck runs so much better now!
  3. Carvana Used Maverick Trade In Values are NUTS!

I am going to keep my 2024 XL Ecoboost for a while. Not even interested in seeing what they would pay me for it. They always ride better when they are paid for!
  4. Two Year Review: 2024 Maverick XL

There is a wire running from the battery that can be unplugged. If you do it will disable the start/stop function. Just be aware that it also disables the battery management system.
  5. Two Year Review: 2024 Maverick XL

After two years and 16,500 miles, I still really like my truck. Over the last 587 miles it has averaged 30.5 miles per gallon. It rides and handles like a champ. Out of the dozen or so trucks I have owned, this truck is the best. Even though I had ordered a hybrid, I think I really prefer...
  6. No more hate for the 2025 facelift's new front end design?

I Well, I guess I am not modern! I am 74 years old. LOL
  7. No more hate for the 2025 facelift's new front end design?

I prefer the old 2022-2024 design. I don't hate the new design, I just like the old one better. To me the prior years design was simpler and more balanced looking.
  8. Review of 2024 Maverick XL Ecoboost after 21 months of ownership

Yes, I waited over 500 days to get my truck. You have a great memory. The same truck now would cost about $4,000 more, even for the XL. Only two recalls on my 2024, so I think Ford has improved on the quality issues. I still think the XL is the best value, and unless you need more features...
  9. Review of 2024 Maverick XL Ecoboost after 21 months of ownership

I am still happy with this truck. It rides and handles very well. It now has about 15,000 miles on the odometer. It has averaged 29.9 miles per gallon over the last nine months. I use mostly top tier gas but have been using regular unleaded 87 octane. The best mileage I got in 2025 was 32...
  10. 17 month review, 2024 Maverick XL

Yes, the body panels are a little bit thin. Don't park close to anybody.
  11. 17 month review, 2024 Maverick XL

Yes, even Ford says it gets better after 4,000 miles. Also, you will get much better when taking trips.
  12. 17 month review, 2024 Maverick XL

I am still happy with the Maverick. I love the ride and handling. The gas mileage has averaged around 30 mpg over the last 4 months. Got the first dent when someone banged the rear passenger door getting out of their vehicle. Of course they left before I saw the damage. I decided to just...
  13. 14 month review, 2024 Maverick XL, 2.0 engine

Have you adjusted the AFE bias on your truck? I'm not saying this is not possible, but I don't think you can average over 36 mpg over the long haul.
  14. 14 month review, 2024 Maverick XL, 2.0 engine

After 14 months I am still very happy with the Maverick. Over the last two months and 1,463 miles it is averaging 31.4 miles per gallon on 87 octane, top tier gas. That is up from 29.2 average for the first year. The ride and handling are very good. I think the better gas mileage started...
  15. XL vs XLT Build Quality

Cruise control is standard on the 23, 24, & 25 Mavericks.
  16. Auto Stop/Start may be going away (per EPA)

Mine has now been disconnected for the second time. It is now a pleasure to drive the Maverick! Ask me if I miss it.
  17. Mabett Giveaway: What Did You Name Your Maverick?

My truck is Casper, the friendly Cactus Gray Ghost.
  18. Auto Stop/Start may be going away (per EPA)

I disconnected mine and now I enjoy driving the truck so much more! If it's not broken, don't fix it.
  19. Article, Ford loses its last cheap vehicle to tariffs

I would comment, but I wouldn't be politically correct. Probably would be put in time out!
  20. Would You Buy Your Maverick Again?

Yes, I would buy it, but maybe not if the prices keep going up. I am very happy with my XL Ecoboost. It drives and handles better than any truck I have owned, and I have owned many trucks. No deep sleep issues and only 2 recalls.
