Update on my Maverick at three weeks and 1285 miles.
Did Adam's graphene\ceramic coating which works really well and the water beads on the paint and even used it on the windshield and it works like rain-x, and I'll see how long it lasts.
Added the aeorskin to the hood, sill protectors and...
Do a search online and you can probably find someone who does it different intervals.
I watched one where the guy who did comparison between Kirkland 0w-20 and Mobil 1 0w-20 and if I remember correctly, he had a Lexus 200H with 150k or more miles and tested at 10k intervals and with the...
All I know is that if I had more money and didn't give a damn about gas mileage, I would have bought the '79 Ranchero that a friend sold about a half a year ago.
It would have had zero trouble towing almost anything. It was the model that was a body on frame and it had 460 cubic inch (7.5L)...
Just looked at the pdf for 2025 Maverick 2025 Ford Maverick Owner Manuals (was torn between getting a 24 or a 25) and this is on page 109 of the manual:
REMOTE START SETTINGS
1. From the settings menu, press Vehicle.
2. Press Remote Start Setup.
You can adjust the following in the remote...
The following is directly from page 124 of my 2024 pdf copy of the manual showing how to change the settings.
REMOTE START SETTINGS Switching Climate Control Auto Mode On and Off 1. Using the instrument cluster display controls on the steering wheel, select Settings. 2. Select Vehicle. 3...
While oil may not break down or may break down slowly, oil can get contaminants from a poorly sealed air filter, moisture in the oil, unburned fuel getting in the oil, etc. and these contaminants can contribute to more wear on the engine, which then can add metallic wear particles to speed up...
There is such a wide variety of aspects to an engine and the oil used in it.
This can range from an engine that is well or poorly designed, to whether you put local or highway miles, whether you drive 5k miles in a month or in a year, even issues with poorly manufactured internal parts of the...
On my 24 XLT, For remote start, there are settings under remote start to have the hvac set to last setting or auto, where the auto reacts to current temp and turns on ac or heat as needed. Similar settings for the heated seats and steering wheel.
The email was from Ford, not the dealer.
I looked for a sticker on the battery but I didn't take the battery out. I'm sure it's the original battery, with a whopping 390 CCA!
As for a maintainer, not easy for me since I don't have a garage and would rather not have a maintainer and extension...
Iāve only had my Hybrid XLT for two weeks and 900 miles, loving it!
Comfortable and has enough power for my needs and gets much better mpg than my Fiesta and even has a usable back seat! In the 7 years for my Fiesta no one ever sat in the back seat!! lol!
Funny you say this because some days when I take a lunch break, I'll just go out to the truck, turn the ignition on (not start it), put all windows down, have the radio on and then turn it off and wait until the radio turns off and click the key and repeat 3-4 times during lunch.
Then I'll put...
I just thought it was kinda funny, since if I didn't know about the battery sleep issue, I'd be wondering why Ford would want to check a battery of a new vehicle!
I'm tempted to run the battery down and force the sleep issue to get a replacement AGM battery.
The last update on the window...
I picked up my 2024 XLT Mav hybrid literally two weeks ago today.
A couple of minutes ago I get this email from Ford about scheduling a free battery checkup.
Are they trying to tell me something??? Lol!
With all the talk of battery issues, I already picked up a jump battery just in case.
I...
Okay, maybe not putting mpg through the roof, but with double the battery and changing the computer to allow the HV battery to be used more often, it could provide a noticeable bump in effective mpg.
I just got my ā24 hybrid a week ago Thursday and on my very first tank, I just filled up Thursday night and did 493 miles (calculated) with ā40 mile to emptyā and put 13.5 gallons in the tank.
Very happy with this mpg, since the truck isnāt even broken in yet.
Iāve got 619 miles so far and still...
Iād want a bigger battery so the truck could run on electric power easier and longer. Double the battery size and effective mpg would go through the roof.
Ford wonāt do it because it would cut into their full electric vehicles
Well, first tank of gas (provided by the dealer) and driving 493 miles in one week, I got 36.5 mpg with probably 70/30 split highway/local driving and still learning how to fully take advantage of the hybrid functionality.
Very happy with the mileage, how it drives and the comfort compared to...
In the try it once idea, my wife had an 86 Volvo turbo and I told her she should try hitting the gas hard to know what kind of power she had in reserve if needed.
Once day I came home she told me she put her foot down to test and was very happy with the results, I could see by the big smile on...
