XL & XLT updates are not available online, only via WiFi.
XL & XLT has an ACM module that can be updated via WiFi, USB not enabled, I believe Ford can update it via software, but it's a pain. Updates for the Maverick are not publicly available online as far as I know.
Forscan does enable you...
Was working for me before, have a garage controller that allowed me to use GAssist to do so. Was handy when backing out of the garage.
However, not sure if it's because of an update to the infotainment, Android OS, or Android Auto.
Well the new update added or removed a feature depending on how you look at it.
If you have your Maverick in reverse, voice commands are disabled. Once the vehicle is in Park or Drive, they are re-enabled. Android Auto voice commands, even 'OK Google' would not activate via the infotainment...
The other alternative was force a soft reset. That was a fun experience.
At this rate, I'm glad Ford isn't charging us for Fordpass. Everyone else is charging some subscription for the same feature. I have no doubt Ford will later down the road.
Didn't have the issue with it having it stuck at 0%, it would not find the update (stuck spinnning/no updates found) or hang up after a certain percentage. I did find that adding an access point reduced my time to check for updates. At least that was my experience.
Leaving the vehicle in...
No clue. Android Auto seems more responsive, so that's one thing.
My best guess on why the updates are huge, are they aren't incremental updates, rather they're a complete install.
Judging by your signature, Lariat? Your updates are completely separate from XLs & XLTs.
However, yeah it's a...
I don't think auto-update works correctly. The system never reconnects to WiFi from my experience except after the update.
Starting the truck in the morning or coming back, the WiFi icon after the update shows the WiFi signal with an I. Not connected, but WiFi available.
Try using your Mobile...
Let the truck sit overnight. I installed it in the evening, had installation go to 100%. Version was still the same that night.
Started the truck to run next morning/afternoon, was greeted with 'Updated' over the speakers.
XL & XLT use a completely different infotainment system, screen and...
Man, I must be driving wrong. Best I've achieved was 8.3L/100km per the computer, 8.5L/100km via fuel calculation (28.34, 27.67 mpg)l.
Mostly freeway driving at 90km/h (80%) and some city driving at 50km/h (20%) (56, 31 mph). Trips are usually 12-15KM (7.3, 9.5 miles).
ECO mode barely makes...
First time plugging it in after the update, it required me to to setup Android Auto on the head unit. No other problems as of yet.
Prior, it was a pain to get Android Auto to work 100%, 75-80% of the time it would work. The remaining 20% was unplug, repair, restarting the head unit, etc.
New update seems to be made the head unit faster, less waiting between switching menus. No glitches so far with the backup camera.
Android Auto also works more reliably, less unplugging, remove device, and soft reset. Only been a week, so we shall see.
Hasn't fixed the brightness issue with...
Happened twice on my Maverick, usually either the Soft Reset (Power + Forward) works. Or cycle the vehicle off and on.
Haven't seen it in 3-4 months now.
Thanks, grabbing the update now. Finally, there's a new update lol
I gave up on using the home WiFi, truck does not get a good connection. Always would hang up at 20-38%, and you have to restart from 0%.
Using Mobile Hotspot, the download took 12 mins. Roughly, 520Mb downloaded/uploaded...
Just noticed today while walking around my Maverick that the paint (soft and easily scratch/chip) is peeling between the fender and plastic bumper.
On most vehicles there's a bit of a gap to account for flexing. Though, on the Maverick it seems to be clipped tightly together.
Issue seems to...
Did the dealer not give you an order number and VIN at a later date?
Ordered mine on November 1st, got it in February. My options were XLT, Luxury, 4K, CP360, All Weather Liners.
