Most of the people waiting for their Mavericks in the US get communications directly from Ford, but we here in Canada have to rely on a dealer to relay any info to us...
I know my dealer wrote the possibility of a price increase into the purchase if my order had to move to a 24 but are we going...
I was coming here to say much the same. I can see possibly needing an allocation type system on dealer stock for the lot, but not for approved customer pre-orders... these should be FIFO based on availability of parts and allowing for scheduling of similar builds for productivity. Each dealer...
I did a comparison when I decided to wait for a Maverick… there is only a 1/2” difference in the ground clearance from my 08’ Saturn Vue, but the Maverick is over 19” longer.
As a comparison, In my case there were no side bags and the Chevy Blazer hooked my door frame and brought the car to an abrupt stop, but it was still not sudden enough to cause the steering wheel air bag to deploy...
I am still waiting for my truck, but I was planning on putting a 2x6 across the back where the indentations are and then throwing a few Rubbermade totes in there. I park in a two door garage that has a wall built down the middle so using the rear for storage means easier access when parked.
This is one of the things I really don't like about the Ford Canada ordering experience... the lack of communication from Ford. The confirmation and updates go to the dealer not the customer. Like most, I used the chat on the Ford site to confirm my order was received. I have texted my sales...
When I imported my US born wife, she came with a VW Jetta built for the US. We had to have it inspected and all of that jazz but because the speedometer had both Mph and Km/h on it we did not have to have it changed out.
I sent my salesperson a text and asked him if the info he took and the conversation about the extra step needed was in fact for the COVP and if it was approved. He replied back that it was for the COVP and confirmed that my order was approved.
I always buy matching touch up paint and put it in the glove box for these very things!
Back when my Saturn Vue was shiny and new I accidentally closed my garage door while the lift gate was open. The garage door successfully closed the lift gate for me, but it put a 1/8” by 3” gash in the...
Wow, having grown up (and grown old) in a place with very soft water (0.3 grains per gallon out of the tap) I am surprised at the lengths some have to take to protect their vehicle.
I ordered only a little over a month ago and I am in Canada so the process might have been different here compared to how it was done during the window that was opened last in the US.
I will follow up with my sales person tomorrow, but I remember a conversation we had while he was entering my order where he asked for some information (I believe my DL was part of it). He mentioned that Ford was requiring more information to prove the order was actually for a customer as some...
Well I played dumb (I knew it was too early for mine) and texted my Salesperson. He said they only have one unit of allocation and only one Maverick was scheduled for June. Oh well, lol!
I had not seen any - but I wasn’t really looking before I saw the Plain Jane white one on the dealer’s lot. I finally saw a white Lariat set up as a boiler company’s truck. I live in the burbs of Vancouver Canada, but I would be the first to admit I am not travelling to far from home these days...
What I will miss most is the ability to flip the passenger seat forward giving you a end table of sorts. I have this on my Saturn and it is great for setting up a small office or I can use it as an ottoman (from the back seat) to put my legs up on while I wait for a ferry etc.
I am in Canada... I am a little surprised at the lack of information in the process. I walked away from the dealer with a credit card receipt (for the deposit) stapled to a business card. I had to email the salesman for a copy of the Preview Order Form. Today I decided to check the status with...
I had a flat bottom steering wheel added to my '91 Stang but I did not have much of a chance to use it. Shortly after the modification I found the car did not meet my needs anymore!
Yes, my sales person explained the possible wait with no promises. He also explained I might have to re-order for a 2024 if necessary at the new cost and possible changes to the packages. As I mention in my OP I am not in a hurry.
