Yes, I 'bent' the light strip up to the top of the DRL. My strip had the red tape on 2 sides and since the one had been used, I used the other side. The side with the used tape was sticky and looked bad so I covered over it with electrical tape - it looks very good. I'll post another picture...

Yes, it is mounted vertically at the very top of the grill, even with the flat edge that faces up (the hood). The lights are pointed down.
