I mean you’re comparing apples to oranges, lots of people would prefer a slide in modular camper to a trailer, ya know the kinda people that don’t need a tiny shower or full kitchen crammed into a tiny space, and would rather cook/shower outdoors. The teardrop you linked is actually 1900 lbs...
Scout campers just released their new model with mavericks in mind, pretty neat, price seems fair considering the market and build quality. Only weighs 600 LBS!!

Mines got a build date of 6/16, ordered during the 2022 order window, XL hybrid with tow hitch, buying it cash and taking it straight to carmax or having it picked up by carvana from the dealer lot for a 9k profit!
Got this mounted up yesterday, shipping took 8 days and only paid $220 w/ shipping, turns out its a heated steering wheel! The connector is on the clock spring but the wiring harness isn’t there, but cool to know I could make it work in the future after adding the harness/button, but no need for...
Got mine… gotta figure out what to do with it now that I already picked up a base hybrid with a very small markup.

Good call, the new Canyon/Colorado looks awesome. I think he 2.7 is capable of the same fuel economy and obviously a WAY more capable truck. I think the Mav sweet spot is a xl hybrid, I’m averaging 46 mpg after 6k miles and paid MSRP, cheap enough to keep my built Montero for real 4 wheeling trips.
Or you can get the identical compressor from NAPA for half that price, likely comes from the same factory in China. I got mine for $100 with AAA discount, things amazing, it gets my 33” tires from 15 psi to 38 psi in under 45 seconds each tire, my previous VIAIR would take about 5 minutes per...
It actually makes a ton of sense, which is why there’s tons of people that own 2 or more vehicles. It’s not about how many years it will take to make up for it, it’s how many miles. I live in southern CA, where gas is $5 a gallon, my hybrid is averaging 48mpg. I put on a ton of miles for work...
Keep the hybrid as a daily gas saver, trade in the tremor for a new Chevy Colorado trail boss for times you actually need a capable off road truck, cause the mav tremor will never be that.
I found these on a FB maverick group, he’s running a 2” rough country lift with Yokohama mudders 255/75r17 and getting 21mpg average, minor trimming was done.
There’s rumors of a 2024 HYBRID ranger, which will be the only thing I’d trade this maverick in for if the new ranger hybrid is offered in 4wd and gets over 30mpg
Swapped my Fiesta ST to a hybrid mav as my daily, that thing was so fun to drive and got 33mpg. Keeping the 02 Montero will be storing it near the airport in Loreto, Baja once I finish building myself another 4x4 E350 box van.
I know it’s hard to understand, but some people drive their FWD mavericks on dirt roads, the meatier tread of an all terrain tire vastly improves traction from the stock tires. Also, the hybrids are averaging 45 to 50mpgs, people are only seeing a 5mpg loss with larger than stock all terrains...
