Thanks for the kind words.
I completely agree with your Skar comment. The price was right and can easily be replaced. Plus the required air volume was pretty low for the one I got.
This is sick!! I need to look into fitting a 10” in my box. I have an 8” right now but I miss having the 10” from my last truck. May I ask what cu. ft. of air space your sub requires?
For sure. The 12v battery for the hybrid is under the rear seat.
I ended up mounting mine within the battery cubby. I have no reason not to trust my set up as I’ve had the same products in previous cars without issues. Just seems sketchy at first thought.
I performed the old “IT trick” lol. I unplugged it and then plugged it back in. I’m wondering if I had a line pinched or something. In any case, I no longer have this issue.
I’m using a basic harness from plugnplaykits.com
Emailed the company for advice. Hopefully he has a solution. Otherwise I'm back to the drawing board.
The stock speakers are trash. but they’re not related to my current problem. The issue was the plug and play harness for my amp. I removed it and the issue went away.
I couldn’t justify purchasing a custom subwoofer box for $250 through ground-shaker.com. Instead, I built this for around $60.
The angles were a bit of a pain, but in the end it was well worth the time and effort.
Roughly 40 cu. ft. with an 8” Skar VD-8 D2 subwoofer and Kicker cxa400.1. Wire...
