  1. Eibach Lowering Springs Kit for Maverick, Finally Installed!

True! And why can't the East Coast media czars report that our gas prices are the worst in the nation, $7/gallon? They whine about $4!
  2. First big detail done. Ceramic etc.

True. The Touchless product is thin, like water. So multiple layers of it is better. But it is great for the majority of us lazy people because it is so easy to use, like a detailer. Squirt and wipe.
  3. First big detail done. Ceramic etc.

I was a bit unclear. I agree, and the depth of shine with ceramics is visible in before/after pictures. I disagree with folks promoting carnauba, a substance that is yellow, not clear, and a pain to use. 303 is far more economical and "close enough" in shine for me. (Great on guitars, too)
  4. First big detail done. Ceramic etc.

There is no need to rub on/ rub off wax anymore. After using a clay bar/clay rag/clay pad for cleaning, just spray and wipe 303 Touchless on the body and windows. A 2 inch strip of regular masking tape will not stick to your vehicle if you have a few coats applied.
  5. Driving your Maverick Fast

Brilliant move! It will handle like a proper European car.
  6. Boost Gauge

Yes, an old school mechanical gauge needs a small plastic tube (about 1/8") to the intake manifold (after the turbo).
  7. Advice for newbie dealing with dealerships?

I emailed them to get a test drive. The reply email said stop by, ask for Ms. X, I drove down there and there was NO Maverick to drive and no Ms. X. I showed them my email from her and shared my candid thoughts on how bad their bait-and-switch looked. A week later got a call for a test drive...
  8. Advice for newbie dealing with dealerships?

Yep, Grody. See my profile pic to the left.
  9. Advice for newbie dealing with dealerships?

They are more properly called "Stealerships". The one in Buena Park, Ca. wants $12,500 over sticker.
  10. Boost Gauge

A vacuum/boost gauge is slightly better to see what's going on.
  11. Driving your Maverick Fast

I test drove a Lariat on city streets. At those speeds it was obvious that the truck needed a bigger rear sway bar. Quick jerks of the steering wheel left/right made the "tail wag the dog". At higher speeds you would definitely want more bar.
  12. Have you changed your oil yet? Oil life monitor question.

It is wise to spend $5 at your hardware store on ceramic magnets and stick them on the oil filter. They will trap small particles the filter misses.
  13. Dealer markup of $12,500

All you do is preface what your comments with "With all due respect..." and then you can say anything you want.
  14. Maverick theft?

Ahh, there you go.(The salesman demonstrated how you can set your truck up to start at a certain time every day from the app. Yikes.)
  15. Maverick theft?

Maybe I am missing something. If a crook downloads the Ford Pass app and enters your VIN, what stops him from stealing your pickup? Should we not cover the VIN?
  16. Dealer markup of $12,500

I let the dealer know that this $12,500 money grab was so insulting that I refuse to even discuss buying this pickup. My comments to the dealership management were respectful, but obscene.
  17. Dealer markup of $12,500

I actually was granted a really nice test drive. Dealers usually let you drive cars with just a little gas so you make your drive short. This truck had a full tank. I will share my initial thoughts on the right page.
  18. Dealer markup of $12,500

Seems like the person who ordered the pickup could have immediately flipped it without being greedy.
  19. Dealer markup of $12,500

Grody Ford, (Buena Park, Ca.)notified me that they had an XLT model in for me to test drive today, so I did that. The truck came in and the customer changed their mind. The salesman was excellent, but I kindly told him to address this overcharge with his manager and where to put it.
  20. Eibach Lowering Springs Kit for Maverick, Finally Installed!

Don't forget our California earthquakes. They used to be fun.
