It does mean constraints to the XL trim. There would certainly be a longer wait than on your XLT, which you would have to consider. But if you are OK with stepping down in a couple features and waiting a while longer you shouldn't have any issues getting it eventually. Since you aren't getting...
Edited to correct terminology. The rollover world receive a private offer instead of price protection.
@Call sign slick Do you have a '23 in production or did you rollover to '24?
If your September order is already scheduled for production you should get price protection from your dealer. Ford gives the dealer the difference, so the dealer can pass that on to you.
If your 2023 order from September hasn't been scheduled, it won't be built and you needed to place a new...
Shouldn't be much. There are 31,654 orders in the bank with a hitch. Capacity is 65,000+. Ford can make about 5,000 hitches monthly, so in about 6 months they'll all be accounted for.
It will take some time, but hitches by volume are actually the least constrained item.
I'm thinking about putting some on mine to make it easier for the kids to get in and out.
Those that have them on, were they worth it? Is there anything I should know or consider before buying them?
Yep. Ideally Ford will increase their order to the supplier and bump up the capacity. Unless they do that, the best thing to do is buy the splash guards from Ford Accessories after ordering.
The current top 3 constraints are Front Splash Guards (132% of yearly capacity), Hard Trifold (84%), and XL trim (77%).
Definitely need to remove splash guards if you have them on your order unless you would rather not have the truck.
I did. I would let the dealership know you haven't received any emails regarding your order status and confirm they have the correct email linked to your order. It's possible they mistyped when entering it into the system.
You can also call Ford as suggested by others to confirm that it's in...
The stock orders would be a different model year, so not really a concern.
Did they copy your driver's license when they took your order? My dealer did and sent me a copy of the order preview to sign confirming my features.
True, but you should be ok to leave the hitch. Not every constraint is as drastic as the splash guards.
Hitches have a capacity of 65,000+ while the order bank only calls for 31,000 at the moment.
Each order that wants them should get produced without issue, but it might take a little longer...
Yes. Ford says they have enough inventory to cover 4% of Maverick orders. No one knows exactly how many they are capable of producing, but last year they made just over 100,000. 4% would mean approximately 4,000 orders can have splash guards all year.
The order bank has 47,000 orders with 11%...
I agree. It's ridiculous that we have to buy vehicles like this.
I've been trying for months to find a truck on a lot without a markup. I've been up front with every dealer in my area that it's a hard line for me.
Only 1 dealer has been willing to do so and I have no recourse if they renege...
Amazon also charges you up front before shipping your item. I doubt many people would pay cash up front for a dealer to give them a maverick months later. It's simply a different business model.
Since you can't shop directly from Ford all you can do is spend your money at and reward good...
And yet those same dealers love being the middleman. I'd happily cut out dealers because at least Ford doesn't try to do things like this: https://www.soundford.com/used/Ford/2023-Ford-Maverick-ef53e0d30a0e0a923dd53addfd68d192.htm
From the link I posted earlier: "Texas law prohibits manufacturers from owning, operating, or acting in the capacity of a franchised or non-franchised dealership."
EV or not, Ford cannot sell you a car. Your politicians have made that decision for you. Take it up with them because no one on MTC...
For
Ford has stated they would like to do exactly this. However nearly all states have passed laws explicitly requiring the dealership to sell you the vehicle. In fact, most states have specifically excluded Tesla(and only Tesla) specifically from these laws.
