Test drove a 2.0 FX4 XL, didn’t think it was particularly noisy but we also didn’t get to take it on the highway (dealer in middle of city). Definitely quieter than my 2013 CRV on surface streets at least.

The hybrid may not be a rocket ship, but it’s plenty powerful for normal driving. Though I learned to drive on a 1978 Corolla with 50hp on a good day mated to a 3 speed automatic, so maybe my comparison is different. Heck even my dad’s Oldsmobile stock V-8 made around 140hp and it was hauling...

When I went to test drive an XL the dealer had a cactus gray Lariat racked up on a display thing out front, I asked about it and they said it wasn't for sale, it was a customer order waiting to be picked up but they were using it for free advertising.
