This was sort of my initial guess as well. Thanks for confirming for us. I know there are some good ones somewhere, but they're harder to find now. The manufacturers are to blame with the dumb problems that need fixed, and then the dealers not utilizing people correctly (although like you...
I agree. If the running lights are on with headlights then you could tap off that. Shouldn't be too hard to reach and tap off of. Just do a good job protecting the wiring and wrapping it all back up. You don't want water to get into any connections. That said, the DRL circuit would be where...
Wow. Yeah that is a joke and an insult. You had zero issues with it before. With any and all maintenance it's usually the simple and obvious things when stuff doesn't work. For instance, if an aircraft rolls into a hanger and everything works, then it suffers a starting issue after...
Ithe springs seemed about right. Honestly I wish the factory springs had the same feel and build quality. It was just a height issue. The truck is already pretty low at the factory height even with a weight distribution hitch.
Oh there's full instructions out there? All I had were those photos I shared with my post. Not super helpful, but good enough to make sense out of. Those full instructions could be nice to add to this thread! Thanks!
Yeah solder is the only way to go. Butt spice would be fine too though. That's a solid repair also and sometimes preferred depending on location and application. If this is the Ford solder repair... I guess I would need more context than this photo provides. Could be just fine though.
Oh I totally hear what you're saying! I just wish there was some pride in the work. Inexperience is one thing, but no pride is usually the problem. A little pride goes a long way. I appreciate your insight! I know times have changed and shortages and things are tough. Thank you again. Maybe...
True. Definitely want to be comfortable with what you're doing! I was an aircraft electrician for 16 years in the USAF before changing career fields. I'd totally take it to the dealer too if I trusted their work. As a certified tech, fully knowing what that world is like, how many other techs...
Seriously? Wow, that is terrible. Assuming there isn't anything else wrong/missing, this should fix it! If you have any questions let me know!
Maybe check fuses and things before digging into it. Hopefully they didn't wire it wrong...
