I spoke with my friend, who did NOT finance through FORD, and his dealership was going to charge $499 for document fees; however, there is something in Delaware (that I can't really explain) that allows you to fill out an application that has to do with being able to sell your used car elsewhere...
Some folks asked if they could get a "10" Priority Code. Our dealership automatically had us a a 10, but I understand the number could go up to 19. (Our Maverick took 4 1/2 months from order to delivery.) I really don't know if the code is a factor or not, but why not ask?
Hi. I've been following your situation and have offered my thoughts previously; however, I just realized that I know someone in Lewes Delaware that had ordered and just received an Explorer. I'll ask him if he would share his cost of "processing the paperwork" or "standard (DELAWARE) doc fee"...
If you are a veteran, you could sign up for Veterans Advantage, have the membership for at least 90 days and be eligible for X pricing from Ford. Although pricing turns out to be just above invoice cost, one of the biggest advantages is that X pricing limits document fees to $100 . . . and they...
True. We went from $499 document fees, which I think is excessive, to $100 once we established eligibility for the X plan.
$600 is ridiculous. Still would like to see a copy of the actual contract (with name and vin not exposed) to see how it was actually listed. Surely, there would have been...
Googled Delaware document fees for automobiles.
Uness it has changed, the state charges 4.25% of the sales price.
Does this calculate correctly for your vehicle’s cost?
Hope this helps you.
Thanks for your response. My husband and I are among the elders of this group having bought our first car 55 years ago. Back then, I was taught to turn the radio, heater, etc. off to save draining the battery if everything was on the next time you started the vehicle. Maybe that wasn’t correct...
Really glad to hear that you had a good experience, too. Maryland seems to be holding its own with reputable dealers. We’ve only seen one other Maverick on the road, and that was near us in east Baltimore county. Hope you enjoy yours as much as we have.
We hope you bought from Al Packer Ford in Middle River Maryland. If so, relax because they honored everything from our November 2021 order that arrived April 2, 2022. X pricing, military rebate and 36 month/0% financing. Hope all Maryland dealers do the same.
Good luck!
This is WAY more than a $5,000 markup! Almost every line item is inflated beyond reason.
Hope you find a solution. Everyone’s circumstances are different, but I hope you can put up some resistance, even if you walk away, I’d still picket the place with signs like “Ask me about my experience...
We used X plan through Veterans Advantage, not Ford stock, and saved about $900, a good portion of that because only $100 is allowed for document fees If using X plan.
When you buy your Maverick you will receive 42,000 points that can be used for future Ford products.
If you are active...
Just so you don't get too frustrated by not seeing anything or only some things . . . our PCMs never showed up . . . even when I checked after we received our Maverick.
Picked up our Maverick on 4/2 and understand that our first payment is due May 11th. How soon before your first due date did you receive a bill in the mail? Thanks.
Al Packer Ford in Middle River Maryland . . . . Had a great experience with our Maverick purchase. From our salesman, Steve L. to the manager, Win, we felt completely comfortable with all conversations and explanations. We ordered in November and were told it would probably be spring time when...
