Area 51 XLT FX4 AWD w/ Lux, 360
245/65 17 Vredestein Pinza AT (Tire Rack); these look better (IMO) and perform so much better than the Scorpion ATRs (esp in wet). Braking/Handling just as agile, but actually quieter and more comfortable overall while retaining the agile turn-in characteristics...
Added a Rev/BAK Revolver X4s hard roll up tonneau today. Straightforward install while the tailgate is a tad tougher to close, as some have already said. Solid, sleek, and secure.
I’m glad you know what look I’m trying to pull off.
There’s only so much room in the wheel well and I have about 3/4” left before rubbing. So unless I shave, lift, or add spacers (which I’m not looking to do) the tire/wheel isn’t growing much.
My intention is to have a truck that can handle...
Added to the Mav today:
Vredestein Pinza AT 245/65 17's
Cab spoiler
Buschur's air intake
Coming from the Pirelli Scorpion ASRs, these Vreds look and handle so much better. Wider track, higher sidewall, slightly more aggressive tread that handles better (esp in the wet), while being quieter...
No drilling required. They use the existing plastic panel fasteners in the wheel well. Quick 30min install, which is easier using a panel tool (although a flathead will work, as well). The silicone/rubber weather seal strip is already installed for you on the fenders. The rivets in the fender...
They are the the bushwackers from Ford Accessories. I chose them because I preferred the riveted, more beveled look while also being cheaper than the other taped-on ones Ford offers. Although I lose the rear mudflap, there's enough "flare" to stop mud from flying up.
Here's an earlier shot...
Live in NE Essex county, but picked up my XLT FX4 around Thanksgiving from Haldeman Ford in Trenton. It was a canceled order that I happened to catch at the right time. Paid MSRP, but was required to buy $1,000 white glove maintenance (their version of a markup). Being 1.5hrs away, it's a...
I almost bought the Vred Pinza AT 245/70's but decided to go with the 245/65 instead just in case of rub. Tirerack was willing to sell me the 245/70's at my own risk. Should be on the Mav by mid next week.
Big change for me...2014 Lexus IS350 FSport AWD, Stage 2 modded that was totaled in hurricane Ida flooding. I do miss some of the luxe features that the 8yr old Lexus had but the Mav doesn't, but it's offset by the utility it provides at such a low cost (and it's almost just as fast the Lexus...
Had the same issue with the latch after installing a car seat. Read the manual and still couldn't get it to work. In frustration, I slammed the seat back and low and behold...click. For giggles, I tried it again and again, and closing with a good amount of force is the only way to get it to...
I just put them on today (12-16) since it was 63 deg up here. About 30min to put on which included cleaning of the area and warming it up with a hairdryer.
Yes, thanks! These are the ford accessories ones you can find online or at your dealer. Happened to be a 63deg day up here, so i took out the hairdryer and spent about ~35min applying them.
I love the look and install wasn't too bad (~30min). I had some cheap Harbor Freight panel tools which helped, in particular after the job is done, using one to make sure the seals are flush (some ended up folding in after install). You lose the rear mud flap as well.
