I had a 2-door JK a few years back, and yeah, I rolled sans spare tire for a while, but never while actually off pavement. That's just asking for it. Lol
I like the way it looks, keeps me off the ground if I do have to utilize my spare tire, eliminates some of the downward rake in my front end due to the weight shift to the rear of the vehicle.
And I'm admittedly enjoying how this mod has apparently befuddled many of the masses. 😂
Not planning to, really. On the extremely rare instances I need to haul something large in the bed, then I would just undo the hitch pin, slide the spare out, load up, and put the spare tire back.
Yeah, definitely seemed weird when the guy told me they don't work on Mavericks. Oh well, no big deal. I'm happy with the OEM drop in (especially since I got it so cheap!).
All good. Also, this placement helps partially eliminate some of the remaining downward rake I had on the front end, even after the leveling springs install. 👍
