I called Ford Marketing and they could not give me COVP status, only that in queue to be scheduled. Received COVP approval status from the GM several minutes ago with authorization number.
Surface prep is the key. Ford is trying to install 1000's of SIBL's, shortcuts will be taken while an independent shop will take their time to do it right the first time.
The two most-known brands are Line-X and Rhino. Personally, I would rather have an aftermarket SIBL than a factory one. Had issues with a factory SIBL from Nissan. Do some research to see if one suits your needs better than the other.

Not sure I totally agree with your statement. From where I stand I do not see that many hybrids in North Tejas. I was in Boston last week and saw a ton of hybrids. A lot more greenies in the Northeast compared to Tejas.

I am late to this party, don't want to read dozens of replies. How would you rate exterior/interior fit and finish? What about interior sound levels? Any noticeable squeaks, rattles, clicks, buzzing etc.?
Page four shows the feature I will do regarding the bed rails. I have Unistrut channel nuts, will purchase appropriate size fender washers and SS shoulder eye bolts to compliment the tie-down cleats.
