You can change the thread with fabric dye pens available at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc Time consuming, tedious, but the leather made it pretty easy since you could wipe up overage or mistakes. The cloth seats in the XLT would not be as forgiving with mistakes and I wouldn't try it myself...

You will not regret getting a DA polisher. Orbital is ok but still can get you holograms and small swirls. But the safe DA polisher set at a med/low speed with appropriate pads and light polishes will never get you in trouble (Unless you consider that a challenge)
