Yeah, Sport Mode with the EB and 4K rear end/92 octane, and it almost is too powerful for the vehicle to handle.

This is pretty true with the EcoBoost too. In most of my driving, ECO mode will improve my MPG's about 1 mile per gallon. If I have a lot of city driving, it doesn't make really any difference. Not worth the performance drop. But Sport mode does negatively affect my MPG's much more noticeably.

To be fair though, towing with my full size Lincoln pickup caused the gas mileage to halve. So you could absolutely say that towing with a gas engine can cause the range to be cut in half. But, the range can be regenerated in 5 minutes.
