Most dealers and brands do this. I found out when my son totaled my wife's car and we were looking for a new car. We initially weren't looking at Fords. Needless to say this was infuriating when you actually need to purchase a car.
You think that's bad, look up GM Ignition switch failure. There's a huge settlement going on right now. Lots of severe injuries and quite a few deaths. Talking hundreds of millions of dollars GM us having to pay out. Yet, hardly anybody knows about it.
This was the case for us. My son totaled my wife's car and we got much more than KBB. We got the market value. The only good thing in a crappy situation.
I get what you are saying. My buddy ordered an FX4 at the same time as I ordered the Tremor, and he is rightly more confident than I am about receiving the truck in a timely manner. Hell, or receiving it at all. I'm hoping that since the Tremor is it's own body code, that I will get lucky and...
