Thanks for the real world review. We're about the same height and I'm wondering how you liked the overall fields of vision when cornering left and parking. Is there much of a dead zone created by the base of the front post and mirror?
That could be true for a simple piece work assemblyman but this assembly line is too intertwined with robots, subassembly steps, and cooperative teams to be pushed to excessive speed. Better to reward them for fewer defects and consistent performance which keeps the line moving at the designed...
You're probably right about keeping next year similar. They haven't even started an open ad campaign so I'm thinking it will be for the '23s with only minor changes based on glitches exposed in the '22s and parts availability.
I'd like to put a 360° camera display there for parking in marked spots. I'm glad I have it on my SUV and it's better than squeezing the lines.
Or maybe 3d print a removable extended snack tray to share fries etc. with my wife.
Just ordered reflective black for my Velocity Blue XLT which won't get built for months. At least I'll have something Mavericky until she gets home. Thanks for the idea!
Looks great and that price is good. I'm wondering how the soft roll ups handle snow weight and freezing temperatures. Is there any type of rating for yours?
I wonder what Henry Ford would have said about this evolution of his assembly line. The sophistication is mind-boggling to me, as one with no experience in manufacturing.
The deciding factor was whether my wife could get in the passenger side. It was actually easier for her than my '14 Rogue. Ordered a hybrid XLT Lux the next day. Hope it gets here before the Rogue turns 10!
Agreed. I'm 72 and my phone is rarely out of reach. And I'm guessing the link for android carplay would provide more up to the minute nav and traffic conditions than on board gps. But that's just me.
Great news and explanation! Much appreciated. Also perfect timing since I literally placed my order today for an XLT Lux Hybrid before I saw this post. FWIW, I received the "order confirmation" email from Ford so the long wait begins.
