I tow often, maybe up to 50% of miles, in summer, and I find it a bit perplexing that ATF would only last 20% as long if I'm primarily towing. It's not like I'm overheating all the time.
RIght or wrong I've had a drain and fill twice in a little under 50k.
So, at least one of mine fits. It went from too tight to too lose! I may continue to use it but would probably have to look for rubber pads or something to put on the bottom. How ironic, since I had to remove the rubber insert to get it in there....
The second one sent to me is the wrong color...
Wasn't aware that was an insert, but that is likely my problem, so I feel (just a little) like an idiot! Guess I will be offering to pay back a couple of sellers for refunds if that is my problem! Will check later
Referring to the cubby to the right of the screen: I have ordered two of the simple slide-in drawers from different sellers, on eBay, and both of them will only slide in partway. They don't seem to be tapered enough at the back in the horizontal dimension. Seems like there might be incorrect...
I recently went from the (for some reason unevenly) worn Scorpions on FX4 rims to steel take-offs with stock Continental tires and went up a couple mpg. More tread on the "new" ones, and they ride nicely, too. IMO
Based on experience thus far, I would have no complaints sticking with this model...
I added sport mode a couple days ago, with mixed results - it does seem a little better on acceleration from a stop or slow speeds, but there are other aspects of it that I don't like, similar to what budpalumbo said. I also agree that it seems to fluctuate from one trip to the next, but I can't...
Don't worry about it. Gas mileage is where you will see the impact of wind resistance. I have towed my trailer (pictured) many thousands of miles at highway speeds and have never seen engine heat climb over half nor had any other warnings.
Guess I didn't see this thread originally because I was searching in the engine-based forum. Anyway, more in my thread on what seems to be a similar or maybe the same issue: Uneven/Abrupt Acceleration and Throttle Response | MaverickTruckClub - 2022+ Ford Maverick Pickup Forum, News, Owners...
No... as mentioned above, this does not only happen when I start from a stop, and it's a completely different sensation anyway.
As I've paid even more attention to this issue since I posted the thread, I think it is not necessarily related to the gas pedal position but instead more of a delay...
No sport mode from factory, but I will probably get an upgraded OBD2 unit and add with Forscan. That seems to be the most likely, and maybe only, way to improve it.
Like I said, it also does it at low speeds in motion - how low, exactly, I don't know - but there's really only one point in acceleration where this occurs. I just can't describe exactly where that is as far as speed or RPM.
Thanks all. Sorry for everyone's troubles but I'm very glad to hear I'm not going crazy!
I do get the sense that this is a programming issue or design flaw as opposed to a manufacturing defect, and I can already hear my dealer saying there's no problem....
I've experienced this since I first got the Maverick, and I'm not sure if it's getting worse or I'm just getting more annoyed or concerned. When I start from a stop, rolling idle, or low speed (in first gear), I have to press the accelerator what seems like a considerable distance to get any...
Just had rears replaced on EB at about 40K miles. I brake conservatively. But my integrated trailer brake controller has an unresolved issue that I believe has worn the rear brakes faster than they should have been.
