  1. Test drove a Ford Ranger for more hitch weight

I'm trying to figure out why your truck looks so good. Is it lowered? I don't know if it's the wheels or what but it looks great for some reason
  2. Test drove a Ford Ranger for more hitch weight

It's all about frontal area and wind drag. My friend gets 6-7 MPG towing his race car in a 24' enclosed trailer, but 14 MPG hauling it on a low open trailer.
  3. Test drove a Ford Ranger for more hitch weight

Maybe pack more stuff in the back of your trailer to lower the tongue weight? Looks pretty small to be at maximum tongue weight, you might have too much weight packed in the front. BTW Your truck looks great with the color matched top
  4. Mabett Rear liner mud gaurds.

I'd spray the inside of the rocker liberally with Fluid Film (or similar) then add the mud guard. Road salt spray might still get in there, but at least it won't have any effect on the protected metal
  5. Rear Sway Bars - Learn me somethin?

If you enjoy handling and performance driving, there is NO better investment than improving your technique Do HPDE events with a good club where beginners & intermediates have an instructor in the car with you at all times. You don't need any special setup, only good and fresh brake fluid (I...
  6. Inexpensive Bed Protection - mats from Costco

I have something similar which is also 1/2" thick heavy rubber and I also thought "that ain't going anywhere" but once on the highway we heard a knocking sound in the bed, my kid looked through the back window and saw it was the mat was flapping around in the wind. The wind blast from a passing...
  7. Rear Sway Bars - Learn me somethin?

Yeah, AI can dream up some weird nonsense, and I especially wouldn't trust Elon's 😄 The biggest difference I've noticed going from regular to ultra-light wheels is the improved steering response; I can really feel it. *BUT* this is on a very light car with double A-arm front suspension, and a...
  8. Rear Sway Bars - Learn me somethin?

Sorry, no experience installing a bar on a Maverick but if the info on the steeda site is correct the OEM rear bar is 270# and theirs goes 280#, 350# and 450#. That gives you range to experiment and find what you like and adjust for different circumstances (daily use vs a track day). I'd...
  9. Random Maverick Photos of the Day Thread! 📸

They *ARE* factory wheels, 19" and exclusive to the Lobo trim
  10. CVF intercooler hose clamp help

Quality issues on the 1st one + undersized inlet & outlet on the 2nd one ... 🤔
  11. Interior plastic scuffs / scrapes - partial success using Pledge Revitalizing Oil

I know the Maverick interior is kinda cheap, but it isn't "blow molded HDPE" cheap 😄
  12. Interior plastic scuffs / scrapes - partial success using Pledge Revitalizing Oil

Don't oils tend to break down plastics over time? For example, sunscreen really screws up some surfaces after a while
  13. Convert from rear I-Beam axle rear suspension to independent rear suspension

Have you driven an AWD back-to-back with yours to compare ride, and make sure all the expense and effort will actually be worth it?
  14. Rotors and brake pads for 2024 Ford Maverick

You're not braking enough, those rotors are rusting and getting scored from lack of sufficient braking A couple times a month, find a road without traffic and do 2-3 moderately hard stops from 60 MPH to 15 MPH Speed back up to 60 MPH and drive about 3/4 mile between stops to cool the rotors...
  15. Massive Strut Tower Brace Installed on Lobo

(At comparable stiffness, the hollow bar will be lighter)
  16. Massive Strut Tower Brace Installed on Lobo

Those front strut braces don't really do anything, handling-wise. They're for looks
  17. BAP My Way! Powder Coat the wheels!

Honda "Golden era" bikes 😍 A friend had an RC30 (VFR750 R) it was crazy
  18. BAP My Way! Powder Coat the wheels!

You get all of this except the grill on Lariats I lucked out, I bought a set of BAP 19s with practically new tires and TPMS sensors for $500. Cheaper than powder coating my wheels, and I got a set of tires too
  19. 4K tow package pulling an RV

Towing an RV at 80 mph is so weird, to me the whole point of camping is to relax and slow things down I guess those folks have monster payments on their brodozer and 32 foot trailer and McMansion, they have to work every last second to make more money for those payments so they have no time to...
