Thats a major inconvenience not know what setting you actually need. Id definitely let them know.
Wow that's a crazy waiting period. Any they make you leave it? I've never heard of that, I wouldn't be able to leave my vehicle for that long while waiting for them to look at it.
My dealer...
As far as I can find, all you can do is adjust the brake gain.
I thought F150s had a trailer profile you could setup and select for whatever you're towing that gave you more settings, but maybe I'm dreaming. Thought the Mav would have some kind of similar system but not that I can see
I definitely noticed the trailer brakes working.
I had the gain set pretty low to start and couldn't really feel the trailer brakes, cranked it up to 7.5 and it was a huge difference.
I'm not an expert on towing whatsoever and I don't really know what the gain settings vs truck brakes really...
Hey everyone,
We came back from our first weekend camping with our first trailer behind the Maverick.
Its a 2003 R-Vision Trail Lite Bantam 19 ft. hybrid, weighing 2500lb dry, roughly 3000lb filled I estimate. Its a little bigger than we originally planned on getting, but it was a deal we...
Got back from our weekend with the trailer last night.
Did 300+km in full trailer/towing mode and brake gain set to 7.5.
Had zero issues with trailer brake function. I'm assuming we had no brake lights staying on as no one yelled at us at all lol. Again we couldn't really check them while...
Ahhhh gotcha, obviously thats how it works lol, brain fart on my end.
Well I guess ill let you know if my trailer brakes stay on when i pull our camper 2 hours from home on friday.
Finger crossed 😬
Thanks for the heads up, I honestly did not realize that. I'll stick to pulling it with a normal receiver. I got an older distribution hitch from a family member, but i wont use it now based on what i read.
Interesting. I pulled my camper home on Sunday and the trailer brakes worked fine, they never randomly came on (this is assuming the brake light issue is still present).
Would it be outputting the brake power as default with no trailer attached? When a trailer is connected does it recognize it...
Great to see it towing well.
We bought a 19ft R-Vision Trail Lite last week and are taking it out this weekend for its maiden voyage. Weight of the trailer is 2500lbs dry, likely close to 3000lb once we get the water tank filled and everything else loaded up. It only squatted the truck about an...
I'm hoping there is a software update in the near future that fixes it. We are planning on doing a lot of long haul trips this summer and I don't really want to be responsible for causing an accident. It definitely seems intermittent though, we were driving around at night for about 45 minutes...
Had my truck in for service on Friday and they claimed the brake micro switch was sticky and is being replaced under warranty. They had not seen this issue before and of course couldn't replicate it while driving it.
We will see if the switch fixes the problem, however I feel like it wont...
Just found a similar issue on mine. My wife followed me around town on a drive and we found that all brake lights (including third light) function fine when I stopped at a light. They come off once I let off the brake but once I hit 20km/h they came back on and stayed on.
I have it booked in for...
