I really like them! Coverking makes great fitting quality covers. Got a leather set for my momās Lexus and sheās in love. Doesnāt even look like anythingās on there. Thinking of doing something similar for my Mav but really enjoying the stock seats for now.
Hi and thank you! Those covers definitely save a lot of time and effort. After years of using them, I wanted to try stitching one on for hopefully a more OEM finish. Really happy I did! Whatās funny is the day after I finished stitching, the good olā mom and pop convience store in my area...
Thank you! I think it is feasible but not recommended. The tape is meant to prevent the wrap from shifting and/or twisting over time. The eBay kit I bought comes with a small roll of double sided tape - perfect for the job. All I did was add a one inch strip of tape to all four āsidesā of the...
It definitely did thicken the wheel a bit which I really like! Makes the overall drive feel more substantial. The leather material is soft while providing added grip. I like this kit especially because it has perforations in the leather. Allows the material to breathe while increasing usability...
Thereās just something so nice about working on your own car and really making it your own š. Iād be interested in seeing your wrap job if you want to post it!
Happy with how this came out for $30 shipped from eBay š. Picked up some matching orange stitching too. Link here if youāre interested in the kit.
Steps:
1. Disconnect battery
2. Remove the steering airbag
3. Remove steering wheel controls
4. Stitch the wrap and place tape as you go
UPDATE: contacted Ford customer service directly and they insisted the car was delivered. Went into the dealership and they continued to insist the car wasnāt there, even after performing a physical search. I then asked to see the VinView. He responds, āThatās an internal thing we do, so Iām...
Iāve been on top of emails and have been in contact with the salesperson. This dealership is very highly rated and trusted in my area, so I truly hope it is just a mistake. Going to call Ford customer service directly tomorrow and give the dealership a visit. Donāt know what else to do besides that.
My maverick was confirmed 9/20/23, scheduled for production on 7/18, VIN was available around this time, built 7/19, and shipped 7/19. Estimated delivery was between 8/1-8/14, then moved earlier to 7/27-8/09.
I called my dealer to ask about tracking; he said he would look it up and call back...
Wouldnāt be surprised if MY24 Maverick prices increase substantially given its demand, especially since weāre already seeing it happen to the Ranger. Ford canāt fill orders fast enough.
Thatās a valid concern and why I wonāt be putting duct tape on the paint, plastic interior pieces only. I figure I can buff out paint, but itāll be a lot more trouble if I pull off paint while removing the duct tape.
I always see black, never white.. especially on a cactus gray Mav similar to the one Iāll be getting. Looks amazing, almost gives a retro vibe. Reminds me of the heritage edition Broncos with the white accents/badges.
Iām planning on applying duct tape to the door sills where people will inevitably step on and scratch. I found this navy blue color that Iām hoping will match well with the interior (no Mav to test with yet). If anyone tries this method, Iād love pictures!
