Would that be strong enough for the door and hinges? The wooden version probably doesn’t add more than 50lbs ( mine didn’t and has a wooden roof.) I’ve seen lots of people use the foam for tear drop trailers!
I’m about to embark on the same thing. I’m thinking of more trying to guide the water out the sides. By creating a foam/pool noodle/wetf that wedges against the truck glass and the flated topper.
Yep that was my first edition. I cut a bed tent and attached it with Velcro and used the fly as a rain fly. Worked perfect. But I wanted something that was set up as soon as I arrive at my destination. Flated has hinted at some sort of extension for the top but will be interesting to see how much
I went with 245/60-18. nitto’s they are the exact same outer diameter as the stock 18 inch Michelins so zero impact to speedometer. I got them on sale. But the difference is noticeable. IMHO this should be the stock size..
Has anyone ever tried to run wire through the bed/back seat wall? A deep cycle marine battery fits under the back seat but I would like to run the wires through to the bed for use in my “camper build”
That’s a cool design!!!
it’s from flated. They were on shark tank. I know the cap itself is very water tight when installed properly installed. I haven’t had rain yet to test my build
Ha I did that in my old f150 and tossed mine and my daughters hockey gear into the street at the first turn. Thank goodness for honest people. We got it all back later that day. Would be a totally useful add on!!!!
Nice. I did something similar Did you have to adjust your tailgate cable. Mine are a little long and tailgate sits just past level. Seemed easier to build around it than mess with the cable though!!!
Haha. You’ll have to discuss that with my wife. That is mellow yellow her 800 lb, 4 foot high, 5 foot wide, 8 foot long home made ( not by me) tear drop. That little thing has seen some miles we took it to Newfoundland last year 7000km’s in three weeks. And it regularly gets hauled around by her...
hence why I was so shocked when I saw one for $250 CAD in Kingston, and needed to know if they are interchangeable. It is a 23 i have a 22. going to go for a nice drive tomorrow morning. probably try to get better than 5.4 L/100km's which is my lowest on the highway so far....
