The way the wheels are cast has a lot to do with the quality. OEM wheels while not as flashy as some aftermarket wheels, are cast to a high quality construction, usually low pressure casting.
I've seen some owners of cars like Audi's and BMW's put cheap wheels like Sport Edition brand on thier...
Wondering this myself. I know there is a limiter on it. Probably limited to about 120-125 mph. One thing about Hyundias/Kias ....don't think they put limiters on thier cars. Here is a Car and Driver test results for the 1.5L and 2.0L Escapes. I know the Maverick is a little slower probably...
Anyone else NOT get an email confirmation? I ordered 1/11 and still no email. I talked to the dealer and he said it IS on order, but I would like to get the Ford email that tells me the scheduling, build progress, etc. SOMETHING. I don't want to wait months and not hearing and not knowing...
I bought a brand new 2011 Fiesta and some kid went speeding through the cross walk on his BMX 20" bike after the light turned "don't walk" and slammed into the side of my car so hard the tire left a dent in the rear quarter panel as he tried to swerve away. Think I had it 3 months at that time...
I did not make a deposit. I just signed the order agreement. I went to the dealer today and he looked it up on a printout and showed me that it is on order. Guess Ford just hasn't gotten around to emailing me yet.
You have the towing package correct? The slightly lower gearing makes it a tick quicker 0-60 mph. I've seen videos of 6.4 secs (not sure if it had the tow package) and 6.5 secs (using 87 octane). 6.3 is the fastest I've seen so far. I know now a days reviewers don't consider a car fast unless it...
The AWD Mavericks have an independent rear suspension vs. torsion beam of the FWD versions.
My 2018 Escape S FWD has a 168 hp 2.5L and on the highway it does just fine. Never have any problem passing.
My 2018 Ford Escape S came with a CD player. In 2019 Ford deleted it. I can still load my music onto a flash drive and plug it into my USB slot. Without a touch screen though it is a bit to scroll through the songs/album list with the a up down button on the dash.
How does that work? You can still cancel your order before you take delivery, correct? Especially if it hasn't even been built yet I'm assuming. The dealer would not have any problems selling it once it hits the lots that's for sure. From what I've heard from some dealers, the Maverick is sold...
Agree about the turbo. When I bought my 2018 Escape, I purposely bought the base S model with the port injected Mazda-designed 2.5L motor because I did not want a turbo. I've always shied away from turbos. Could only get it in FWD with the non-turbo motor though. Have to be honest I almost...
From what I heard the Hybrid is like 40 mpg city, like 33 mpg Hwy, is that correct? The 2.0L can get up to 31 MPG hwy from what some have said. I do more hwy driving than city and I live like 15 minutes from work. So that's not such a big deal. Road trips out of state or long distance driving is...
If you get the Santa Cruz with the 2.5L non-turbo engine you get a conventional 8 speed automatic. The DCT is only with the turbo option. Looked at one on the dealers lot. Looks better in person I have to admit. It was the tan which looks more .... well tan than in pictures and videos. The Santa...
AWD. I have front drive Escape and a couple of times I went to work without snow blowing my driveway and it snowed while I was at work. Came home and tried to do a running start into my drive way to get into the garage and got stuck. Had to shovel myself out lol. Also got stuck in the parking...
Sorry to hear that. It's a bummer. Have to wonder if they are rushing to fill orders at this point. Think we will all have to look our trucks over really good when we get them.
Now to just wait for that first door ding in a parking lot somewheres ..... :devilish:
......... just kidding. My 2018 Escape doesn't have a single door ding since I bought it new. Should be in Ripley's believe it or not Methinks. I've been real careful where I park.
Not a lot of difference really from the XLT. Instead of grey cloth seats, the seats are a leather or leatherette with brown. The door pulls and dash trim has brown trim instead of the orange and grey bits. Has push button start. Here is kind of a neat website with pictures. Mostly the good stuff...
Since there is no built in navigation, I plan to fabricate some kind of GPS mount that fits into the cubby. I have 2 Garmin GPS's one with weather and traffic on it. Although it would be more to the left than my liking. If nothing else than I would make a blank panel that could be held on with...
The 0-60 mph sounds right for the hybrid. However the 0-60 mph for the 2.0L ecoboost AWD is 6.4 secs. I've seen actual POV videos so that is confirmed. Not sure what the FWD ecoboost is, but it gets wheel spin on takeoff so I would guess slightly slower 0-60 mph, a little quicker with a rolling...
My 2012 Escape SE hatchback had no such problems when new. Was actually one of my most reliable cars I've owned so far. I had the DCT however and at about 80K and almost 7 years of ownership, the transmission shift lever would not shift out of park. These modern transmissions have an electronic...
