I like your spring loaded collar idea.
I don't like the current design that spins like a roulette wheel; stopping at Park and Drive would be my preference. This would be in addition to the spring loaded collar.
In naming the Maverick pickup, I didn't understand why Ford used the name of a 1970s car that didn't really have a great reputation. But, the name has grown on me.
In 2019, the Ranger name was brought back to use in the US. This new pickup was based on the similar Ranger pickups being sold...
If you like the monochromatic look on vehicles, choose some version of gray. If you want a color that "pops", and provides a contrast to the gray, choose orange, yellow or a blue green, like teal, cyan, or aqua. Post a pic when you have made a decision. Blessings!

My dealer "couldn't find" the private offers, so I called Ford marketing and they found my two (stacking?) private offers. That made for my all-time best purchase on all of the various Fords that I have owned; $5,250 off the MSRP.
Sean Van Goiter reminds me of a character that Jon Lovitz played on SNL in the late 80s (for those of you that were alive then):

Those ST wheels look fantastic. That's a big improvement. I don't care for the factory wheels in picture 5.
Is the rear of your truck lowered? Is that part of the spring package?
