I just received this kit. The two M12 bolts and flat/lock washers are now black - seem to be painted in an effort to prevent rusting. The caged nuts are not painted and may still rust over time (they do not appear to be plated). I hit them with some CRC Heavy Duty Corrosion Inhibitor and let dry...

I use a 2x6 cut to length with 2x6 feet that rest on the floor and sized to make it flush with the seat. Easy to take out/install as needed. Using cedar makes it quite light weight.
