I like it because it's a nice, soft drop ... not a hard free-fall. If my hands are full, I can just unlatch with a finger, and let it smoothly lower on its own. True, it's not a heavy tailgate at all, but the assist is nice. And saves wear 'n tear on the tailgate by preventing that hard freefall.
@Foodie .... Probably at the end of modifications? Uhhhh.... doubtful. :teehee: There's always some new gizmo and fancy trick to add. And that's half the fun of owning this little gem, is all the mods and accessories. I'm thinking about a trailer hitch cover, and really like those Maverick...
Well I got one in the mail yesterday, I had already ordered it a week and a half ago. Haven't installed it yet. But it doesn't have homelink, and I'm not sure if I really need it, or not, based on where we are living. I do want the auto dimming feature, however. And the Kia mirror I got was $15...
Congratulations! I've had mine just shy of one month, and I can't say enough good things about it. I love this little truck. My husband calls it, "Trucklet". 😂
Enjoy tricking it out... that's half the fun of owning it! Lots of good suggestions on this forum, for all kinds of mods and accessories.
I agree 100% with your comment about the boxy hood and mis-judging the parking distance. It's been a bit if a learning curve for me, too. It's getting better.
Love your F-50 sticker! Mind sharing where you got it?
Congratulations on your new truck. I've had mine just shy of a month, and am...
Love to see a manual transmission in this little truck. On the column! And yeah, they could do a redesign on these windshield wipers. It's okay if you're aware of the idiosyncrasy of how to flip them out, but some people aren't aware, and have mistakenly and inadvertently broken their wipers...
Silks or dried, only. A.) No bugs; b.) Fresh can't withstand the heat build up in the car; c.) I don't want to be replacing them every other day.
That said, I might come up with something else for 4th of July. 😂
Thank you, Mike! My little flowers make me happy when I get in my truck. The only other thing I would care to have in that "useless cubby" would be like a 3D-printed phone caddy. But then ... why? Not really necessary with the display screen.
And I don't 3D print. 🤷♀️
I lived in Darmstadt...
That's exactly my thinking! Thank you!
As I said in my original post, if VW can do it, then why can't I? My cousin had one of those old Beetles with the flower vase. That's not a new thing. Volkswagen has done that for many years.
Thanks for your support. 😂
I can hear the groaning and feel the "eye-rolling", from here. But if VW can do it, then so can I! I found a use for the senseless little cubby to the right of the screen. It's my style, and I'm stickin' to it. Lol!
They are really simple to attach. Peel off the red cover of the double-sided tape, and attach them into the corresponding recessed well of the letter. Nothing to it. They are available all over Etsy. A gazillion sellers offer them, for prices ranging from $15, as high as $100 or more. Ridiculous.
It has a self-dimming mirror, it has a digital compass in it, and it has homelink, which lets you do things like open up your garage door by touching a mirror button.
