This is exactly what I encountered and why I went with Lariat over XLT.

It's not my favorite design, but it has grown on me. Someone else mentioned it looks better in certain colors and I agree.

When I replaced my grille, I had to drop the entire bumper cover. I don't think the upper portion of the grille can come off by itself as it's fastened to the bumper (as well as the brace along the headlights). It's a lot of bolts, but can be done in a day. This guy does a great job...

A note on the Motorola one - mine bricked after about a year. It was great up until that point. Reading the Amazon reviews, I'm not the only one to report that it failed right as it got out of warranty. Someone posted another listing in this thread, which I'm now using. It has been fine so far.

Mine has done that a couple times as well. My best guess is it's trying to manage humidity.
