that is why i dont care much for android auto. some of the features are nice but it all ford features and abilities are not transitions into android auto
if i remember correctly, when you activated the TSR there was an option for Camera only or Camera and Navigation. i did see some options to...
i just got forscan the other day. i haven't played around with it much yet. just added speed limit signs. my last car had Sync 3 with Nav and the signs appeared on the dash, i got used to looking there for the limits.
but i am guessing it is just going into the APIM module and changing the VIN
i remember on my 2011 Ford fusion. my brother layed on the passenger side floor and looked up under the glove box area to get the code. but i am unsure.
i am not sure about the Non-Sync 3. but on the infotainment system, there is an option to add other codes, you just need to enter the master...
im sure the discount is for the combined shipping. i might try to hit up a local junk yard to see if they have any 2020 or newer escapes might be able to pull one out of there. then just need to figure out how to program the VIN.
okay, this forscan stuff it confusing, half the thing i know are turned on show as Disabled on there but yet it still works. makes me confused on what to touch and not touch
yeah, same here i contacted him as well. said the same thing to me, i was just looking at the 2nd one Shark listed and i am looking at his feedback now. 203 positive 0 negative feedback in the last 12 months. seems okay to me.
but i think i will wait until after i get this recall thing taken...
i was looking at the IPC module listings, and noticed Global open and Global Close listed in there. do you have to change that as well? could that get the Global close to work?
i am new to forscan, not sure what has been attempted already.
yes, i have a Lariart Lux, that is why i was asking if it still worked since the picture of the unit from the seller shows 2017 as the MFG date. i was not sure if the unit supported the XM or Android Auto
thanks,
do you by chance have a link to the vendor you used? or the ebay username? (i think i remember reading you got it on ebay)
since there are so many scammers out there selling clones i prefer to get one from someone i know has authentic
yeah, i looked through all the pages explaining how to do it, i got lost. you went from Sync 3 to Synce 3 with Nav. was there wiring stuff you needed to do ( like splicing wires and removing pins from the harness) or was it more plug in and then use forscan?
So, i took a nice long drive (949 miles) in my Lariat Lux(Sync 3) and i used android auto and google maps to get there.
along the way, android auto stopped about 7 times. phone still showed charging, so it was still connected. i just unplugged my phone and plugged it back in and it started...
it's funny.i was just browsing around the ford site and found this
i think you just proved that it can be done. i think ford is just trying to get the Sync 4 out there are start charging for navigation with a monthly fee.
well, if that is the case I can just put the phone in the wireless charging area made for the phone.
I mount the phone on the dash for GPS, I like to listen to audiobooks through an earbud, so no one else in the car has to listen to the book. I can't plug my phone into the car for the GPS...
I wonder what type of plastics they use in the Mavs that are so Anti-Stick. My Gorilla Double-sided tape worked great on my 2020 Escape dash. I had the mount on next to the infotainment screen for over a year.
Thanks for the info. I will give the 3M VHB tape a try. hopefully it works. If for some reason that does not work, I will go for the Cubby phone mount.
