I'm doing the Thermal R&D exhaust for my Lobo sometime during the first of the year. I'm going to make it road trip up to the Lancaster area. Looks like there are a few ways to get there some more exciting than others. So the last autocross for me this season was at Angel Stadium. It was really...
I'm a little late, but when I was searching for something else on the Ford website I did see that they offered a Rally Mach E trim and saw the white turbo fan wheels as well as the black ones that come on the Lobo. I saw a pic on the Thermal R&D site of reviewers white lobo with these wheels on...
OK, another question for the group. If you do have an aftermarket exhaust system on your Mac, which brand is it? Ford Performance Parts sells the Borla. I saw a Youtube what had a whole bunch of different brands. I'm leaning towards the SoCal company Thermal Performance. Ive seen a couple of...
I had a question for the group. Do I need to be concerned about that open space at the lower front of the rear wheel well? It looks like it would drain if water got in there. I think I've seen somewhere that there is an aftermarket cover for it. (did that make sense?) Winter is coming and...
6 months new. I saw there were forums by region and here I am. Any planned meets? I looked at the Tustin Legacy Cars and Coffee site. Their event in November is on Sunday the 9th. I won't be able to make it. I'll be at the Corner Exit Autocross at Angel Stadium. I my last event of the season...
Thank you so much for the advice!
Just so I don't mess this up.The 245s would be preferable to the stock 225s correct?
Just out of curiosity about how long are your autocross layouts? The first one I was in was .7 mi and the second was smaller at .5 mi.
I'm new (brand new) to autocross. I have participated in 2 events so far. What do you think about these tire choices? My Lobo is my daily, Home Depot, Costco, Provider of Fun everything truck.
I live in Southern California so temps are quite a bit warmer and we only have to worry about rain...
Nope, bone stock. And yep I recognize the understeer now on the really tight corners that I'm still trying to figure out being a total noobie to autocross, but I'm having a lot of fun. I am thankful for the understeer in that I don't worry about spinning out either that or the torque vectoring...
1) around 2500mi first oil change was at about 2K after my wife and I did a road trip to San Luis Obispo.
2) Lobo mode, traction control off.
3) Being my first autocross and driving the truck in Lobo mode to me it handled the track nicely and felt stable even braking hard into a turn to keep...
My first autocross over the weekend. Had a blast! Truck ran great. I didn't kill any cones. I was consistent and my times improved each run. And at the end of the day I wasn't dead last in the over all standing. Also I was the only truck in the stock class. They ran out of numbers that they use...
Big time amateur autocross! I figured it is a good way to bleed off all of the stupid things I'd be tempted to do on the street that my older self says you shouldn't do, but my past younger self says just do it! It's just a really fun truck to drive.
I'm a little bit farther north, but I'd be up for making the trip down to hang out. I like coffee and I like cars, donuts, bagels..... heck food in general!
I was looking at a Lobo that had the option (+$100) wheels and I was ready sign right there, but that recall they had on it for something kept me from even driving the Lobo. I looked around and found one with the turbofan wheels and its VIN wasn't part of the recall. I went down to the dealer...
Another way to get the weight of the wheel is subtract the weight of the tire from the total weight of the wheel/tire combo.. I think you can get the weight of the tire from the tire manufacturers specs. IDK, just a thought. Sorry, but your 30.5 lbs is just for the wheel or is that the weight...
Dang! I wish I saw this earlier! I had my Blue Road Buddy with a folding 6ft table, large ice chest full of cold beverages, one EZ-up, small trash can, one folding chair, large tote with almost everything I might have needed and weights for the EZ-up to keep from turning into a kite. I was going...
I got the one from Ford.
I know which end of a screwdriver to use and I watched this install video done at a Ford dealership a few times and gave it a go. Got it installed about an hour. I haven't done any water test on it for leaking or taken it to the car wash yet, but it is pretty solid...
Thanks all for the warm welcome!
So much cool stuff that folks are doing to their Mavericks!
Lots of evil thought of upgrades/mods for my Blue Road Buddy!
Already put on a trifold hard cover.. Been looking at cat back exhausts, tires, lowering set ups, etc.
My ultimate goal is taking it out to...
Oh my! That is a real beauty!!
I'm having evil thoughts about doing this to my blue lobo!
How much is it lowered from stock?
Does it handle any better corning or on your favorite piece of curvy road?
