One of the first things I did after I bought my truck was taking the shield off and putting it on a shelf in my basement. Oil changes are a breeze and no gas fumes in the cab.

Yes. I had my transmission overhauled under warranty a few weeks ago at 38K miles. Not a big deal. Stuff happens. Works great now. No reason to be so dramatic.

Oddly enough the best mileage I ever got was 33.1 mpg on my way to @Buschur 's to get my Intercooler and catch can installed when the truck was new.

I will say this... I use my Maverick in more truck duties than many who have larger trucks. I regularly tow 2000+lbs, haul half yards of sand in the bed, transport lumber and outdoor power equipment. My thought is if I do more "truck stuff" than the average truck owner with my Maverick then...

No disagreement there. But, I do believe today's Maverick owner is Ford's future customer again too. Quite likely, a truck customer and that's where the money is.
