I love my Mav as well, but I much prefer the sound of my 2007 Sportrac V8 with Flomasters on it. While it's not a big truck as well, it growls like a beast going down the road. Perhaps I can install an external speaker on the Mav and pipe that sound out as I'm driving this little sewing machine...
Oh, and the "faux" CD slot underneath. Did we really need a faux CD slot to make some of us feel old as dirt since CD players are a thing of the past in cars... Except Subarus of course; some still have them. My wife just bought a new one and it still has a CD player. Haaaa...
So, rather than using a larger infotainment screen Ford decided to put that awkward cubbie next to it for ??? (storage, meds, snacks, ?). For lack of a better use I decided to fabricate a spacer to fill the gap so that I can attached a cell phone mount to it. Here is what I have so far. It...
It was definitely my car as it happened to a minor degree on a smaller hill with no one around. The hill I'm speaking of is a long 2-3 mile grade on the interstate with runaway truck ramps and such. But I'm still baffled why mine would smell when it was coasting. I will find out and post more...
Perhaps that's it, the engine braking system. I will keep monitoring it to see if it goes away. I live in the Low Country of SC most of the time (no hills here at all), so my trip to the mountains of NC was its first drive in the hills.
I don't think its the Remote start issue as I also noticed it on another hill I was going down in the mountains. I have about 1500 miles on the truck so I think the brakes would be broken in by now and I only notice it when coasting downhill.
I fully agree with your tips. In the first month of driving I have been getting 50-55 around town and 40-45 on the highway. Now, with that being said, I don't use the A/C, I drive like a grandmas grandma, and I keep the driver door open and assist with the left foot like Fred Flintstone.
One important thing I have learned about the Maverick during my first month of ownership. READ THE MANUAL.
My Dealer new car orientation consisted of giving me the key and saying "goodbye." In their defense, they have no Mavericks on the lot to play with and learn about, so they know...
I received the FIT kit as well. It was actually better than expected and is somewhat useful in the rear of the console and/or the cubby under the seat. Of course, I would rather have received my front hood wind deflector OR my rear bed LED lights I ordered 10 MONTHS AGO with the car. Note to...
Have had my Maverick for about 4 weeks now and all is good, except for one peculiar item. I went to the mountains of NC for the weekend and when I was coming home I noticed a burning smell. It was when I was traveling on Interstate 26 out of the mountains for about 2 miles downhill. The car...
Well, 9 months later, my Area 51 FE Lariat has landed. Took possession a week ago and have been adding stuff to it already. Mud flaps are on, black lettering on the rear, and the hood deflector and tailgate assist are on the way. There is hope for those of you still waiting. BTW, my first...
