Soooo, I have thoughts and question:
Q: how
thoughts and a Question:
- would think you might want Height adjustable bed racks so you can adjust for that camber. Someone else posted that they also adjusted the rear roof rack height somehow. Note that various racks have various granularity in...
Same question on ROOF rack (not Bed Rack)- mine is even same similar color and I like your layout but afraid to buy roof rack that is either to pricey or may scratch.
This pic shows just 1 BedRack/Crossbar and 1 RoofRack/Crossbar- sort of a minimalist approach that might be fine for light loads- did you have to buy a apir of each and only used 1 out of each pair or find a source for 1 of each (if a source- please tell us where you got them as some of us are...
Front to back seems to be a problem as there is no mounting system, not sure why they dont offer them as a pre-installed option like on my van, I hate the clip on side to side but may end up w that as I dont think I am drilling into the roof.
Good summary, however the hard rollups seem to still take up more space than soft roll ups, plus soft roll ups seem to be more easily removed completely if desired. Certainly downside is that a knife can cut but I will just hope out of sight is mostly out of mind -so that's the way I am going...
Funny how a 2006 can have some better stuff than a 2025. My 2005 Escape hybrid was not very far off from the Maverick in many core ways. I think the Eco display monitor was actually better. Milage of 29/36 (Never really got that) was not night and day diff for 20 years of refinement. They...
This is where my Volt Phev /range extender is better, with larger battery and programing/modes for EV only you can run around town for 40 miles, accelerate, go 80 on highway for 30 miles, whatever w zero concern to the ice kicking in. When it does use up the battery it them behaves more like a...
Nice article and that Baja was ahead of its time.... I would love to see the simple version of this as an option as the small bed is the big downside of the small truck. The other thing the Baja had that is lacking on the maverick is the roof racks.. I am probably going to add Elevate bed...
True that they put tons of stuff behind seat... If they got rid of That Itty bitty electric window on lariat for this big manual one that might help (either way that Itty bitty needs to be bigger)
I would do that switch to Ranger IF the "we only support Australia" peeps at Ford (supposedly an American company?) would deliver the Ranger Phev to US! But they won't for some unknown reason?
I think you are right for many uses on the roof rack (there are manufacturers that sell singles but not sure of height or capacity). Attached is example of single roof and single bed rack cross members I like, but shown carrying just a kayak whereas I want to carry some lumber etc.
Looks perfect and what I would like, except pricy. Questions:
-Do you think 2 roof rails are necessary, I was considering just 1 at front?
- is there a less expensive soft cover that works in this same configuration?
Great job looks nice and functional!
