  1. One month in and I’m having doubts

I actually agree with this for the most part except that the one thing car companies should not cheap out on is the paint. Car companies should know this by now. I had some crappy ass low end cars in my life and the key is that even if it had cheap plastics and interior you could still polish...
  2. One month in and I’m having doubts

I don't like the idea of "you bought a cheap truck, what do you expecty for $20K?". (I paid $30K) and I'm sure that's not Ford's plan. Ford wants to produce an affordable truck, not a cheap truck. As a comparsion we also have a 2012 Santa Fe GLS which was a $26K car in 2012. It came with...
  3. One month in and I’m having doubts

I’ve owned a lot of cars, a lot. I’ve owned trucks like Ford Rangers, Nissan Frontiers, Silverados, Mazda. I’ve owned Ford Explorers, Honda Civics, Escorts, Cavaliers, Santa Fe, Volvo, Mercedes, Porsche. I also used to work in a Jaguar repair shop. I’ve owned a lot of cheap cars and as...
  4. One month in and I’m having doubts

Yeah I tried looking for the last bitch thread but couldn’t find it. I thought it was important that we have some of these threads though as these are things potential buyers should be aware of. If I had read this thread before it wouldn’t have changed my mind most likely about buying but I...
  5. One month in and I’m having doubts

So interesting feedback and I’ll clarify a couple of things. #1 - I like the truck, I’m not trying to be a naysayer. My truck was $30K not $20K. People are paying $35-40K in some cases. Even a $20K truck shouldn’t have paint issues. Cheap plastic I can live with, but the paint is a major issue...
  6. One month in and I’m having doubts

Found chips in paint on front fender today, as bad as any chip I had on my 14 year old Honda Element with 225K I just sold. My wife’s 10 year old car doesn’t have any chips like this. The list of little annoyances is starting to build. If it’s getting chips after a month I can’t imagine how...
  7. DISABLED AUTO START/STOP WITH FORSCAN [Update: DID NOT WORK šŸ˜ž]

I’ve had the module installed for a couple of weeks now, it’s great. No button pushing and don’t even think about it anymore.

ā€œ During the process of venting crankcase pressure back through your intake track, large amounts of oil, in the form of vapors can gather/accumulate in your intake tube, intake manifold runners and even dilute your gas, lowering its octane level. This happens on all engines and is even worse...

So I watched the video and now I'm wondering why do the JLT connections take place in a completely different place than the Buschur connections? Is one going to be more effective than the other because of which lines they are tapping into? The JLT installs looks to be a heck of a lot more...
  10. 3 things i hate about the maverick.

Love the truck but my list might be longer than 3 :) I narrowed it down though so I don’t seem negative. :) 1. Interior plastic scratches easier than any car I’ve ever owned. 2. Visibility out the back window is as bad as some sports cars I’ve driven. 3. Seat fabric on the XLT is just a cover...
  11. Not so great gas mileage

If nothing else it will be interesting to see if you see a difference with higher octane.
  12. Accessory mode always goes into full on mode with automatic headlights on

Yes this is driving me nuts. I hate it auto switching the high beams on all the time. I can manually put it in the non auto position but it reverts back on every start. Went into the setting menu and turned off the auto high beams.

  14. Here's one legit reason to get a lift kit

Sorry - maybe not clear from photos, the little flaps aren't the main issue, it's the actual bottom part of the bumper that is scraping before it even gets to the little flaps. But yes the little flaps hang down pretty far as well.
  15. Here's one legit reason to get a lift kit

I haven't owned it very long but the splash guard in the front seems to scrape on every curb around here. My Honda Element never had this issue. I keep pulling in to work or other places and then I hear that plastic scrape. Seems like it's only about 0.5" too long for most curbs. A 1" lift...
  16. Sliding rear window visibility issues

The whole window is a "visibility issue". Visibility out of the rear window is terrible regardless of what style you have. Way too squished. The mirror placement is also funky. Even with adjusting it you don't get much view out of the rear and I find it in the way up front for me.
  17. Real world fuel mileage MPG results by 2.0 EcoBoost owners - check in here

    AWD 4K FX4 - 28mpg (92 octane) and 27mpg (87 octane). Auto Stop Start disabled permanently.
  18. Not so great gas mileage

20 is low and I would contact the dealer. I have awd and have been avg close to 28 with lots of highway driving. 23-25 in city likely. You running 87 or 92 gas?
  19. 2.0 MPG gas mileage tests (so far) and differences using 87 vs 92 octane

The interesting part is that I didn’t start the 87 test on purpose. My wife filled it up and I was on a trip and got back and thought, the truck seems more noisy than I remembered. Then we figured out she had put 87 in it so I figured I’d do the test. In my opinion it definitely performs better...
  20. 2.0L AWD Tow Package MPG

Interesting, you guys seems to be doing better than I am. I just posted my results and 87 vs 92 comparison here - https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/gas-mileage-tests-so-far-and-differences-using-mpg-87-vs-92.9537/#post-192781
