The simple solution would be for Ford to contact all the people who ordered Lariat models, and ask them if they want to wait for "Job 2" and pay the extra $300 to get the option, or go ahead at the current pricing without the option. (Job 1) I know, that make too much sense.
I told my dealer I want to make sure it's a "Job 2" build, so cancel unless it is. They said lets wait and see if it gets bumped to Job 2, and if not they will cancel the order and reorder. I'm not confident they can cancel an order that is far enough along that it shows Job 1 or 2, but I have...
All you'll really have would be the owners here on this large and popular Forum who could provide documentation to quantify the high failure rate unless you have a local club or multiple friends with the issue. Most manufacturers try to downplay issues like this until the can't any longer. If...
Most dealerships won't do lifts and lowering unless the kit is from the manufacturer. Most any factory warranty also states failures due to modifications, abuse, lack of maintenance or outside influences are not covered. Depending on the dealership and your relationship with them there will...
Ford should cover the replacements under the powertrain warranty, and then extend goodwill repairs for a reasonable amount of time given the history of failures on stock vehicles.
I'm in California so it wouldn't work anyway, but if the deal seems too good to be true, it usually is. Most dealers here are asking over MSRP, but the dealer I use 100 miles from me is offering straight MSRP with no addons or pumped up fees. That's the best I've come across in California.
You are the first person with an unmodified Maverick that's chimed in on this thread anyway. I'm sure there's more, but it may not be the huge numbers that a few people are saying. You live in Florida. I wonder if major rainfall or some other environmental factor might have some effect on the...
That is all true. I know all about " operating cost absorption" after being a Service Manager for 18 years at a Motorcycle Dealership. The Ford dealer I use is 100 miles away from and also pays their salespeople salary. I have 2 local dealers that are both "add a huge markup and play games all...
OK, but then their sales numbers are lower which means less perks like discounts and allocations. Just goes to show you that owning a business and appearing to be wealthy doesn't mean you are smart.
Nice! Happy to hear it worked out for you. I wonder if these dealers that put huge markups over MSRP next to the window stickers have any idea how many sales they lose. When my wife and I go to a car lot to check out things and maybe sit in what we are interested in, and then see the markup on...
Hey there fellow Fresnan! Which dealer was this? At least they offered a decent solution. We haven't had good luck dealing with the local sales departments unfortunately. That's why we purchased my wife's 2017 Explorer and now have ordered my 2025 Maverick from the Ford Store in Morgan Hill.
Not trolling. I was in the Automotive and MotorSports businesses for over 40 years in Service. Yes, sometimes manufacturers have failures in unacceptable numbers. But there's always more to the story than any forum can accurately quantify. Some of you seem quite angry, and maybe rightly so...
