I guess I am a nerd too! I drive OTR. Listen to a book a day +/-. Radio plays the same few songs over and over. Radio gets old. Yes even sirius, but at least with sirius there are lots of alternative stations.

I guess if you live in a heavily populated area with strong signals a stubby would be ok. I live in western nowhere New Hampshire. 😜 We usually get 1 or 2 songs tops before having to hunt for another station. With that maybe I need to get a big whip antena so we can get stations longer...
